"Greg Olsen is our number one WR." Yeah. That was a problem vs Packers.

If yesterday doesn't show you why we need another legit playmaker at WR, I just don't know what will.

First off, Olsen is not a WR, much less our WR1.  He is a good TE---a top 5 TE---in this league who was pretty easily neutralized by a good defense.  Oh, wondering what happened to Olsen yesterday?  Rivera basically said that the Seahawks purposefully took Olsen out of the game with some "things" they were doing.  Anyway...for whatever reason, our other WRs or TEs could not make up for Olsen virtually being put on ice.  Blame the play calling or improper usage of personnel if you like, but Olsen's nullification just speaks to our need---in the worst kind of way---for another legitimate play maker at WR, whether a 1 or a 2 or somewhere in between.

KB is a #1 WR. Do we need someone opposite him with some speed and playmaking ability? Yes. But our problem vs the Seahawks was retarded play calling and no o-line, not the WRs. Greg Olsen wasn't shutdown by the Seahawks. He was shutdown by Mike Shula.

That's not what our defensive specialist and coach said.  It really makes sense too (if you think about it).  Why would Shula use Olsen all season long and then just not use him vs the 'Hawks?  Doesn't make sense if you think about it.

This. Our top 2 WRs last year are having 1000 yard seasons in other systems. Lack of weapons isnt the problem, it's not knowing how to use them that is.

I hear what you're saying, but it's not quite that simple.  They are surrounded by better personnel which makes it easier for everyone.

Go back and watch the film. Olsen was blocking on most of his snaps and when he wasn't he was mostly open. In the redzone they put an extra safety on him so they shut him down then but in the middle of the field he wasn't shutdown and still saw only 2 looks. When he did run a route it was nothing special to get him open and Cam likely didn't see him, but he didn't run many routes.

We could have won that game with what we have for weapons. Yes I'd love to have a WR with some world class speed. But KB is good enough to make things happen. We need throw him the ball 10 times a game. For the sake of the game plan I feel like thats why we don't. But the he's the kind of playmaker to make up for the deficiencies we have.

With all due respect, damn "could have won...with what we have," we have been looking at a broken-winged passing offense for the better part of a decade.  It has been so obvious that it is downright nauseating.  To me it is especially nauseating after some we passed up in this year's draft.

We need a #1 WR that can consistently catch. My biggest hangup on Benji in the offseason was the droppsies. He hasn't done anything to prove me wrong... Too many mental /concentration drops. That has nothing to do with being a rookie.

He's still a monster, I'm just starting to get annoyed.
