I had 7-9 before the season started.  Did not expect a tie.

 

So, think we will go 4-4 here on out and finish 7-8-1

8-0, finish 11-4-1 get 3rd seed and play the Seahawks (6th seed) in round one. Smokes their asses 42-9. Then get the Cardinals who'll have the 2 seed. Narrowly win 24-23 in a bloodbath in Arizona. Then we get the Cowboys in the NFC Championship game and we get smoked by 35 plus. Cowboys go on to play the Broncos in the Super Bowl. Romo comes out of nowhere and goes off for 500+ yards and 6+ TDs and they dominate the Broncos to win it all. Romo gets new contract worth $30M/year, Cam gets contract worth $35M/year and we're stuck in purgatory for the next half decade with all our money in Cam, hovering around 8-8 every year before eventually doing what the Cowboys are doing this year and getting an elite o-line and run game and a merely solid defense and win the Super Bowl, then when Cam's gone we're back to sucking but we got a Super Bowl out of it.

I've maintained for a few weeks now that, as long as we're .500 by the bye (Week 12), we'll be in good shape. I just didn't think there'd be a tie involved, but still.

That obviously means winning 2 of the next 3, but 2 of those are home divisional games. So if we have any illusions of playoffs, we simply have to beat New Orleans and Atlanta when they come to Charlotte over these next three weeks.

But if I had to make a prediction: I think we split with New Orleans and Atlanta, fall to Philly but beat Minnesota, Cleveland, and Tampa to finish 8-7-1.

My bold predictions;

 

Shula survives till the end of the season, then gets a 50 year contract extension(cuz that's how the Panthers operate)

 

Team goes 5-3 in the last 8, still wins the South and loses in the wildcard round

Still think we finish 9-6-1. All hinges on this Thursday's game though. If we lose Thursday night, could be a downward spiral.

This is the NFL people where an accumulation of the strongest dudes on the planet gather on a playing field to sort out some kind of pecking order. The Panthers are clawing their way through this catfight. Playoffs for sure!

4. Graham Gano crushes a FG from 60+ yards.

 

 

With Rivera, this one is definitely the most likely, because he will try a 60 yard field goal attempt before he tries a 50 yard touchdown pass from Cam to end the half.

Mediocre with a capital 'M', yet we poo the bed in Atlanta in the finale and miss out on the division title, and NO wins it with an 8-8 record.
