8 Games Down, 8 to Go...Bold Predictions

Recommended Posts

With five games left against NFC South rivals, the Panthers go 7-1 in the second half of the season and finish 10-5-1.

6-0 = Division title and automatic Playoff berth.

Only loss, to Philadelphia. No way they beat the Eagles with a "name" like "Chip Kelly" attached to them. They can't think straight when there's a "name" they don't see a lot on the other side.

It would be great if we could beat the Saints twice, but I don't see it. We almost always split with them. It sucks that the Browns get Gordon back for our game too, but I think we still win because it's the damn Browns. The Falcons will somehow come to life when we play them like they always do, but I think we still sweep them. It is very possible we go 6-2 or 7-1 in our next 8 games. Anything can happen between now and then so there's still hope.

My bold predictions:

- Mike Shula is fired after this Thursday night game and Ramsdell is hired as the OC

- Hardy gets his November trial without having it moved to a later date and he is found innocent and we get him back.

- Defense jumps back to a top 5 defense.

- Norwell is playing like a pro bowler by year end.

- We go into the playoffs hot and end up with a home wild card game

Still think we finish 9-6-1. All hinges on this Thursday's game though. If we lose Thursday night, could be a downward spiral.

vs NO - W

@ PHI - L

vs ATL - W

@ MIN - W

@ NO - L

vs TB - W

vs CLE - W (toss up, thought this was a loss before they played the Jags and Raiders, but looks pretty winnable now)

@ ATL - W

This is what I was thinking too. I think we lose to Philly and the Saints in their dome.

8-7-1 squeek into the playoffs and play dallas round 1.

Beat them 30-21, 2nd round we see Seattle for our rematch and win 18-3 in a bloodbath. NFC championship game gets played in charlotte against an Arizona cardinals team we have historically had issues against.

18-3 lol. I'm not sure I've ever seen a game where the winning team had 18 points.

You can't underestimate how important this Thursday night game is, you could argue that Rivera may be coaching for his job because if we lose it could a real rough rest of the year and I don't see him coming back if we tank. That said, my gut says we pull it out. Not real sure about the rest of the games but hey you said bold so here is mine.

Cam finishes with 22 TDs and 9 INTs to go with 5 on the ground and Joe Webb comes in as wildcat QB in the redzone and tosses a TD to him as well similar to his one at Auburn. Also think Hardy comes back mid November which boosts the defense up a lot.

Or 6 field goals.

I've maintained for a few weeks now that, as long as we're .500 by the bye (Week 12), we'll be in good shape. I just didn't think there'd be a tie involved, but still.

That obviously means winning 2 of the next 3, but 2 of those are home divisional games. So if we have any illusions of playoffs, we simply have to beat New Orleans and Atlanta when they come to Charlotte over these next three weeks.

1. 6-2 finish with losses @PHI and @NO, clinching the NFC South.

2. Josh Norman between now and the end of the season grab another 4 INTs.

3. KB finishes with 10+ TDs on the season.

4. Graham Gano crushes a FG from 60+ yards.

5. Greg Olsen also finishes with the season with 10+ TDs.
