Would you want Jim Harbaugh if Panthers continue to suck?

Harbaugh was my first choice during the last coaching search.

Knowing what we know now, I'm glad we didn't get him.

The man is a good coach, but a genius at playing the cards necessary to accelerate himself at the expense of those around him. He's burned bridges everywhere he has ever been. I'm not interested in short term success at the expense of our entire team.

Hence why he's much better suited to coaching college kids than paid professionals.

His contract is up after this year, he could walk and there'd be nothing they can do about it.

Well yes obviously he can choose to do what he wants. That's not what I meant. Can they afford to not even attempt to keep him and act as if they can hire any coordinator and magically head back to the playoffs and possibly the Superbowl? They weren't doing so hot before.

Anyways, are these "reports" about Harbaugh possibly being out as head coach coming from Jay Glazer?

Isn't he the same guy who put out the "reports" about Seahawks players feeling Wilson isn't "black enough"?

If so, well, I really don't put a whole lot of stock into that information.

Jay Glazer is actually one of the more reliable 'insider' reporters out there.

There is a difference between being quick to report player transactions/trades/injury reports and this type of tmz style "news".

You obviously do not much care for Harbaugh so it's not like you are going to go out of your way to question it at all anyways.

The reports have come from a number of sources over the past year plus. Harbaugh and the GM, whose name I can't remember, clearly have issues with each other. The owner has been hesitant to pay Harbaugh what he wants because he hasn't won them a Super Bowl, and the GM and owner both believe the team has enough talent that they should've won the Super Bowl. Supposedly the GM trusted Alex Smith way more than Kaepernick and wanted to keep Smith but was forced into trading him so that he wasn't being wasted on the bench. It's basically a dumpster fire in the front office. Harbaugh has felt mistreated because he thinks he deserves an extension worthy of a SB winning HC. Harbaugh is a cocky son of a bitch and he'd have no problem walking to another team if the Niners won't pay him.

I think Harbaugh can be pretty damn ridiculous at times with his sidelines antics, but you cannot argue with his success.

He may be cocky, but he has the resume and wins to back that up, and he has involvement in things on both sides of the football, not just the defense. There is obviously a balance that needs to be had, but is it a better alternative than a defensive coordinator turned head coach who has zero involvement in his offense that has obviously been struggling the last few seasons yet is still plagued by the same problems?

I agree I posted earlier that although I hate him I would absolutely welcome him as HC if Rivera can't get it done.

Glazer's not the only guy reporting this.

What resume? Rings are all that matter in this sport. He has zero with arguably the most talent in the league at his disposal.

Name a good offensive scheme that utilizes horrible OL play

RR isn't the GM. His staff is what it is. Can't ask Shula to change his stripes and implement a WCO dispite not having the OC, QB, WRs etc. or whatever it is you expect.

I expect the coaching staff to be intelligent enough realize they are failing. my point was JH in comparison recognizes the need for an OL. RR and company pieced together crap and debated all summer on two guys that has both shown to be weak as if one would be the answer. His justification is ''he did his best.'' The GM may make the call but RR's brought his people in here. RR's staff is what he ALLOWED it to be. he settled there as well. call it what you, want it is what it is. the GM will turn on him after continued failure like everyone else. meanwhile he'll go on playing locker room dad putting players on timeout, watching tape and not knowing what to do against a 3-4 defense even though he was a defensive cord, a defensive player his entire career, and superbowl champion. I won't even speak on Shula because common sense proves a change is necessary whether it be on the calls or OC entirely.
