I'm with you and think the same thing.  This thread isn't about what we would do though, it's about what we think Gettleman would do.   Even though I really wouldn't mind Del Rio, I understand why everyone wants and offensive minded coach, and I don't disagree. 

I'm not as extreme as wanting Malzahn, but wouldn't be opposed to Pat Shurmur.  I think he got screwed in Cleveland but has been highly successful everywhere else.

Gettleman proved to me with this OL and his neglect to address it in the draft that he is not good enough to build a champion. He signed Chris Scott back. We would have been better off with rookie OTs and OGs from the draft surrounding Kalil. Gentleman goes or Carolina becomes another Oakland or Jacksonville.

No GM with what Gettleman has been handed could have done much more then he has in terms of signings.  His biggest blunder is letting Steve walk.

 

Hurney got fired for a reason man.  If someone started college at the same time Hurney was fired, that kid could graduate with a 4 year degree and by the time he graduated you still see evidence of Hurney fugging us.

those franchises suck so much for a variety of reasons that have little to do with the panthers

 

oakland is what they are thanks to years of stupid ass hail mary trades and blowing high picks on skill position players because they're fast aka what we'd do every year if joe huddle was the panthers GM.  that's not gettleman's style at all.

 

jacksonville tried to make things work with what turned out to be a terrible quarterback in gabbert, went through an ownership shakeup, and are starting over with a new rookie quarterback once again.  they've had multiple high picks bust on them too.

 

also constant FO turnover is what made the browns so shitty for so many years
