Sherman on KB

Just imagine...  had he caught that TD, we most likely would've won AND everyone would be talking about him.  Instead, the only reason our game will be mentioned is that it "turned around Seattle's season."

Oh. My. Damn.

We are the rebound girl of the NFL.

He can catch a bomb or falling out of bounds but the money ball he treats it like a porcupine.

That's the problem, I think so many people are blinded by his acrobatic catches and the fact that he's a rookie.  IDK I guess you can't be too harsh on the guy he's really stepping into a role that shouldn't be in the first place.  But it's annoying seeing him become Jerry Rice when the ball is bad, to Keary Colbert when Cam places it right on the money.

Edit: But I do understand he won't be perfect I'm a walking contradiction.  If he was catching the easy balls but dropping the spectacular ones it would make more sense logically. But I will take this because it shows he has the potential, the easy catches will come with time.

Kelvin Benjamin

55.7 catching %

6.6 drop %

Demaryius Thomas

61.8 catching %

7.9 drop %

Calvin Johnson

59.5 catch %

8.1 drop %

So, can we stop complaining about his drops. He is a rookie. Expect it. How about looking at the plays they draw up for him, or the fact they rarely go back to him after he is overthrown or drops a catch. Target him 3 times and he will catch the third one if he misses on the first two. We have 3 downs the last time I checked. Oh and you have this QB who can run it in if they push coverage to KB or Olsen.

In the red zone, you draw up run pass options. 1st read LBs for the hand off; 2nd read Benjamin (if he is singled throw it up), 3rd read roll out to Olsen back side (if he is singled throw it to him near the sideline), 4th option Cam runs toward the pylon for a gain or score. No team will be able to match up with all 4 threats on 3 straight downs. Audible to a QB sneak if the backers are off. Cam gets 3+ yards per carry up the middle.

Stop with plays like the QB draw from the shotgun when you only need 1 yard. Do you even know what your players have succeeded at over the past 3 seasons? 3rd/4th and 2 or less is an automatic QB sneak. They know it is coming and defenses still struggle to stop it consistently.

When a game is on the line and you need points who would you send to the free throw line in a basketball game? Your 60% free throw shooter or your 90% free throw shooter? So, why do the Panthers coaches continue to choose the 60% free throw shooter? Is it difficult to ask a coach to know their players conversion percentages for different down and distance situations?

Something is seriously wrong with the on field awareness and the ability to track the pulse of a team/player with the Panthers coaching staff.

KB doesnt deserve ROY, aside from a few good catches can we all just admit a majority of his stats came during garbage time throughout this season

No.

TD - to put his team up in a win

TD - to tie Balt at 7

TD - to go up on Cincy

Most of his TDs aren't garbage time nor yards. All his plays today were while Car was up

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
