Sherman on KB

Kelvin Benjamin has had an incredible rookie season no doubt, but I'm wondering when he's going to start doing the other things besides just literally catching the ball. Not a good blocker, not sure he's broken one tackle this year. With some experience, he has best receiver in the league potential. Right now though? Just the ultimate possession receiver.

I love KB, but it seriously annoys me that he also gets a pass for all of the drops.  That long bomb was awesome, but it was all for naught.  It showed his promise, but that catch was meaningless.  You ask me which catch I want him to make between that and the one in the endzone, and the answer is obvious.

I truly believe in Benjamin specifically if we get an O-Line, Running game and/or another true threat besides Olsen.

With that being said he really has to limit the drops I get that he's a rookie, but this is the same guy that I read about during TC literally having not dropped a pass almost the entire way through.  Also if he can get YAC (that may be on Cam somewhat) he will be a beast, but right now it's Catch the ball, go down.

do you know how long it normally takes rookies to become consistent playmakers at the WR position?

KB is well ahead of the curve.

LOL Phil, I believe we have all witnessed the debacles known as Keary Colbert and Dwayne Jarrett, among many others.

That being said, he has the ability and has shown it from day one.  That's what makes the drops really hard to stomach, especially the one today.

Like I said, I am glad we have him...  but the drops are frustrating.  Then again, I wouldn't place all of that pressure on him to make every catch if the rest of our receiving corps wasn't so mediocre.

i'm not saying they don't suck, especially when they're in critical scoring positions. but i think you've got to look at the body of work as a whole, and contextualize his performance among rookies and among wide receivers in general, and realize he's the second-best player on this offense.

I do see that...  Well, it's close with Olsen...  BUT, I'm spoiled and like to complain.
