He better start demanding more 5 receiver sets and less QB runs.  Of course I mention the staff because they are most likely going to be here for at least another year.  I don't see Rivera being fired after this season, and he's the main problem in terms of Cam's development.  Now if you could get me a Peyton Manning to coach this team or someone with his knowledge (Harbaugh), yeah, I'm excited again about Cam.  As it stands now, we'd be wasting money again signing him long term.

The thing is Chud lost his way with his sense of offense, and went read option crazy.  Now we got Shula doing the same thing.  Something is just not right with this.  It's either the coaching, or Cam, I just don't know.  All I know is, I'm tired of it, because we are so predictably inept offensively.  The designed QB runs near the goal line, the having all our receivers on one side, and finally the read option itself.

Cam needs three things to win consistently at Carolina.

 

An offensive line that is at least NFL average in both run and pass blocking.

 

A head coach and an offensive coordinator that are smart enough to design an offense that will utilize and develop the special talents that Cam brings.

The problem is on the coaching staff.

so let me get this straight. the carolina panthers won the division last year. they are in first place as of right now. they are a year or two away from being done with all of their bad contracts. they found their first ever franchise quarterback and now we want to trade him. this is exactly why this fan base cannot have nice things.

With this coaching staff, namely Rivera's staff, Cam won't succeed.  They are going to be here for at least another year.  I think Rivera would have more success if he had a QB who was only a passer, with no athletic ability.  I believe if DA was out there today, again not saying Anderson is better than Cam, we would have won the game.  Why?  It's because DA would have depended on KB and the other receivers more than his athletic ability.  The plays themselves would be designed to get the ball to the receiver.  I would see 5 receiver sets as well.  I don't see how anyone cannot be exhausted with the QB run options, read options, and Cam holding onto the ball for over 5 seconds.
