Why so many taboo subjects?

LOL are you retarded? You're the one who brought up Andrew Luck. And I fuging love Cam Newton and nowhere did I ever say he should be benched or cut or what-have-you. I said he deserves a significant portion of the blame for the loss today and you try to turn it into some racist BS. You should seriously be banned, you stupid POS

Might want to tone it down a bit or you may find yourself being the one to take a vacation there bud.

The problem is that anyone who criticizes Newton is immediately branded a racist.

The reality is that most of the national media writers and talking heads---many of them ex NFL players and coaches---still have serious questions about Cam Newton.

For instance two weeks ago, Jonathan Vilma called Cam Newton overrated, but because Vilma is black, I guess he gets a pass.

Everyone who criticizes Cam Newton is not a racist. It's silly. But that's the Mantra on the Huddle

Guys I know it's online and we have persona's to keep up, and it's probably not a good thing to admit this, but if you're white, from the Carolina's, and have friends and family you've heard at least one if not many people refer to Cam as the NWord and state that he cannot be a winning QB because of it. I've moved twice in the last five years into different environments and had to make new friends, and it's always been persistent at some level no matter where I am. It's not everyone, definitely not a majority, but there's a very vocal minority that aren't being hushed.

Having stated this Cam didn't play up to his potential today, he had a bad game, but at no point was he the sole reason or even the biggest reason we lost today.

You mean there are people who cannot stand Newton for the color of his skin? Shocking!

I will say this again: There were more people criticizing Newton for how he threw a game winning TD pass against the Saints, than there were Dolphins/Bears fans criticizing Tannehill/Cutler for basically throwing away their playoff chances the same week.

The same people here who are lukewarm on Newton, and only show up when the Panthers lose...are the same ones, if you check their posting history, do not like Wilson, Kaepernick, RGIII, Smith, or any other QB that does not share their racial identity.

It does not surprise me one bit to hear folks calling Newton "dumb" while praising Cutler or even Glennon for their "ability to read a defense" while they throw 3 INTS.

Or people call it like they see it when they see a clearly biased individual who simply doesn't like the player for "reasons".

Like the above poster who literally disappears for a year when the team goes on a lengthy win streak leading to a division title.

The Red prides himself on being a racist troll.

As far as Andrew Luck goes.  I think he's a little overrated.  Indy just has a great system for qbs, because Peyton really laid the framework for how they operate offensively.  He's definitely a good qb, but I don't think he'll ever be as good as Rodgers or Manning.

No, that is one poster's mantra.

You can criticize Cam, anyone can, but the idea that he's a large problem within our offense is silly. It's not even debatable, look at his statistics, hell look at his records he's broken his first three years in the league. Look at where he is compared to the "greats" when they were at year four. It's been ridiculous how much the story is always Cam, not the players around him or the coaches.

The narrative since day one in the league is he's not good enough, that's he's a toxic player, that he's immature and can't lead. It's absolutely ridiculous. He has a towel on his head, oh no! Why isn't Cam a winner? Really why isn't Cam a winner? Why aren't the Carolina Panthers a winning team should be the question, and it's not on one player, or potentially even on the players themselves.

Now if you want to trade Cam, or let him walk, what are you thinking exactly? That we can find his replacement in one or two seasons? That it's more worth it to gamble seasons away to save cap space? Have you guys seen what happens to teams without a consistent QB? Browns, Raiders, Bills, welcome to basement of the NFL. Seriously, if Cam isn't good enough who will be? People hear either forget what it's like to go through QB after QB to find someone that has any level of talent to play in the NFL or they're so blinded by whatever prejudices they have they don't care. And that's the truth.

I take long vacation from the Huddle sometimes because it can become a really silly place. The juvenile insults and whatnot can really become annoying. It is hard to sift through the baloney and hyperbole.

It's not the entire Huddle but it's there's definitely a lot of Huddlers who like to use the race card.

Sometimes the race card is the right card.

Ever notice how it's the "race card" anytime race is mentioned? Sometimes theirs truth to it. We're in the South not far removed from a time where certain folks couldn't do certain things, and if they did they disappeared.

And there are a lot of Huddlers who deserve to have their ignorant views called out. However, calling one a racist for the slightest bit of criticism is tiring. At least let them say something ignorant/racist first before jumping the gun.
