Reasons why Shula is no longer needed in Carolina...

Why people not saying anything about kelvin td pass drop that was huge changed the way the game turned out and was played

Maybe because it was good defense by Sherman. And maybe because the other 21 starters all made a mistake at some point today. And maybe because Shula's mistakes have spanned the course of a season and a half now.

Exactly. With all the money we've poured into Stewart he should have been spending it on scientific research to give him Nightcrawler powers to bamf through the wall of 11 defenders stacked on the goal line.

Maybe if our cheap GM didn't give him the worst line in the league this wouldn't be a problem. But Gettleman is blameless. Lynch Shula!

Did Shula not know about our line or did he call the play knowing they couldn't execute it?

Are you saying that Kelvin Benjamin's dropped TD, Cam's turnovers, and the defense sucking at the end didn't have anything to do with it? We called a good enough game to win. If you take any of those away, we win.

KB drop is 1 play as already stated. Cam's turnovers were also within terrible play calling. Look at my first paragraph where I state we don't put in a safety valve for Cam. Defense was great most of the game. they only gave up 13 points today. 6 for almost the whole game. That's outstanding.

The line wasn't a problem. Stewart's day is evidence of that.

Cam's turnovers were completely on him (not simply taking a sack, botching a handoff) so he isn't blameless here, but everything Shula needs to happen for his game plan to be successful happened today outside of those turnovers and STILL he couldn't put the offense in the end zone.

Stewart had a good day in spite of the line, and when he needed it the most, it failed him.

If Cam doesn't turn the ball over, we win. Plain and simple.

Interesting. The fumble was from a read-option play, which had worked very well up to that point. The other pass was him trying, in vain, to avoid a sack. Neither of those are due to playcalling.

58 minutes of outstanding play is not enough to win. When it mattered, they failed. That's on them, not Shula.

The read option play shouldn't have been called on that play. Cam also didn't have a safety valve on his INT. Again. 3 trips in the redzone. 3 FGS. All you need to know.

I had a sinking feeling in my gut when we hired him as a QB coach. He's not innovative enough to take advantage of the rules changes in the passing game.

Ron Rivera is doing a horrible job of realizing the situation. We do not have the personnel to win a game with under a minute left. He isn't maximizing every play of every game.

    • yeah. winter backpacking trips were the most miserable and amazing experiences. same with the coldest and snowiest hunting  experiences. i love being in it. makes for incredible memories. the worse it was, the more i ended up loving it. made the greatest memories.  i just want to get out of it afterwards.
    • I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.
    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
