Does Cam deserve "the contract" based on this season?

I have to admit. Cam can complete some passes but he's not sick with the arm. His ground threat make up for a lot of deficiency, tho. I'll let NFL people decide the type of contract that deserves.

 

Yep, no one hates Cam but at a certain point, WYSWYG. I was really happy for him when the season began, he was standing in the pocket until death and delivering shots. Now that he can ran, his game is off. I think it's time he and the coaching staff decide if he wants to be a NFL passer.

This get rid of, trade, or let Cam walk stuff is ridicules.  QB is the least of this teams problems, and trying to fix all that is wrong while at the same time trying to find a QB to win with, will just make it that much more difficult.

All the same ones here blasting the fans that have concerns over Cam's contract now are going to be the same ones condemning the organization when he's given that big contract and still has the same problems.  If Cam had that contract today and played like he did today the people questioning Cam wouldn't be in the minority.

(of course my opinion).  He is worth it to me.  That is all I have to say.  After years of trying to find anybody half decent to play the position, I am fine with the team going all in vs looking for one all over again.  .

Cam is a pretty good qb.  There's no argument there, and man, when he get's going he sure can be a joy to watch.  I feel like (not by you) there's been a misunderstanding of what's been said. 

 

I'd love to retain him if the price is right.  SB teams don't pay pretty good qb's "hall of fame" money.   Not being able to rebuild our Oline and get some weapons will only shorten Cam's career in the long run.  I want to keep Cam if we can.  I'm all for offering him a fair deal for both sides. However,  iIm not against giving Cam some competition next season.  Competition is a good thing.  Right now Cam can go out there and poo the bed and have 0 repercussions.  As an organization we need to provide him with something he needs to prove in order for him to stay focused. 

 

Cam has never had to deal with any adversity when it comes to his job.  When players are playing for their jobs they play better.  He's earned an ok contract up to this point.  If he wants the kind of money we all know he wants....make him beat out some competition next season and see if he can play at a consistent level.

 

As an organization we need to quit being scared to treat Cam like any other player because it will limit his potential.

The guy is playing with an undrafted offensive line, all new wrs with a rookie being his best option, and has Shula as his OC. We will be utterly screwed if Carolina somehow lets Cam Newton walk away. It's a shame that some of you people can't see or realize this. Throw Russell Wilson or Andrew Luck in our system and lets see how much "success" they have.

A lot of what a QB does effects the offensive line.  Whether it's sliding protections or hitting the check downs.  I'm not saying we have a great Oline, but we didn't give up many sacks today until the last drive of the game.  A lot of the hurries and pressures Cam experiences is just not seeing the blitz, or holding onto the ball.  He's not really orchestrating the offense out there.
