Goodson is NOT Deshaun Foster

Let's get that straight right here right now.

Goody(my nickname since Seahorses were taken) is waaaaay better. More explosive and faster.

Give homey time.

Next game or 3rd preseason game, he will get some carries behind the 1st string line and your eyebrows are going to go UUUUP.

I think Goodson was the victim of a bad call IMO on that first "fumble". He drropped the ball when his wrist hit the ground, and the ground can't cause a fumble. While it remains to be seen whether he'll be as bad as Deshaun "Fumbles" Foster, ball security is definitely an area he needs to work on.

I was impressed by this kid. He's quick and fast, cuts like a Porsche and has good instincts. He's raw as hell to the pro game... he's young and has a lot to learn, but I think we've got a real gem here.

My wife saw him on the sidelines and said "wow he's young..." He does look like he's about 15 in the face...

As I said last night, at least ball security and sportsmanship/immaturity is fixable.

As for making unfavorable comparisons to Foster, if Goodson starts running right into his Uglies or is tackled by a gust of wind, then let's start worrying.

While he MAY end up WAY better than Fumbles Foster, there is no WAY we can judge anything about the kid from one damn preseason game.

    • I just switched to prime video with fanduel south. Will I be able to watch the Canes playoff games still?
    • I mean, you can use that "logic," but the problem is that most practice squad players, backups or average guys don't put the play on film that Wharton did when given their opportunities.  Perhaps you'll end up right, but I don't think that just because a guy has been in a rotation makes him inherently less productive because he gets more snaps. I will say that the KC fans I've seen on social media loved him, and considered him their second best DT,  regardless of his "rotational" status, and generally considered him a dawg, so I'm going to give him the benefit of doubt until he shows otherwise.
    • Did I miss something?  The people we have developing players now are not the ones we've had in the past so I don't know what the heck people are talking about when they say we are not good at developing players right now.  We only have one year to go on.  Canales likes young players or players who are on an upward trajectory, especially in FA this year.  Past QB's and what he's done with Bryce are good examples. Tershawn Wharton - 26 Tre'von Moehrig - 25 Pat Jones II - 26 Bobby Brown III - 24 Michael Jackson - 28 Jaycee Horn - 25 Tommy Tremble - 24 We missed on Milton Williams but he's 26. Everyone else we picked up are on 1 year deals.  The Panthers new front office and Canales absolutely scream developmental team. Pick 8 (stay) Tier 1 Elite - Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter and Mason Graham Tier 2 Elite - Jalon Walker, Mykel Williams, Will Johnson Trade down: There are quite a few really good players that fit us at Edge, DT, S and WR mid to late 1st and high 2nd.  Some combos that would be possible that I really like.  Imagine getting 2 of these guys by trading down. Stark, Pierce Jr, Golden, Scourton, Grant, Emmanwori, Ezeiruaku, Umanmielen, Deone Walker, Harmon and this is just off the top of my head.
