Out for Seattle's offense: All-Pro C, #1 TE, and their only FB

also out is WR Bryan Walters, their punt returner since Week 2. He also took over Percy Harvin's kickoff return duties after Harvin was traded

TE Zach Miller (ankle) - Rotoworld: "Miller is an important part of the Seahawks' offense." Replacing him will be #2 TE Luke Willson, who just recovered from a groin injury

C Max Unger (foot) - Unger was a 2012 and 2013 Pro Bowler and a 2012 1st Team All-Pro. Rotoworld: "Unger is one of the better centers in the game and is a big loss for Seattle's line."

FB Derrick Coleman (foot) - replacing him will be Robert Turbin who has never played FB and just recovered from a minor shoulder injury. NBC Sports: "Robert Turbin found out less than 10 minutes before kickoff that he was going to be called into duty at fullback for the Seattle Seahawks last week against the St. Louis Rams after starter Derrick Coleman broke a bone in his foot during pregame warm ups. Despite never having played the position before in his football career, Turbin performed adequately enough that the Seahawks apparently feel comfortable with Turbin leading the way for Marshawn Lynch in Coelman’s absence... Seattle did have veteran Greg Jones in for a workout on Tuesday but have apparently elected to stick with the status quo in the meantime... The Seahawks may not run as much of their traditional two-back offense with Turbin as their full-time fullback now. ... The lack of a traditional fullback could lead Seattle to go with Lynch solo in the backfield more often."

Our D has the ability to make number 2's look like Pro Bowlers so although a nice break, it might not matter

ever heard of Star Lotulelei, Kawann Short, and/or Luke Kuechly? They make Pro Bowlers look like scrubs. No All-Pro C and no FB for Seattle doesn't bode well for the S-birds up the middle against those three

and SEA losing their #1 TE who is big for them in both pass protection and run blocking doesn't bode well for them, either.

unger being out should force them to pay better attention to our DTs, which hopefully will mean some double teams and roaming backers to wipe out any runs.

look for wilson to air it out early against this secondary. if he can catch our safeties out of position and get on the board early we could be looking at another blowout, especially if shula decides wagner being out is a prime opportunity to run behind fernando velasco up the middle twenty-five times a game regardless of the ebb and flow of the game

yes the QB and RB matter the most but without C, TE and FB the QB and RB have it tougher

A FB in Seattle'a offense is about the same as ours. Turbin might make it even more tough, giving them more speed out of the double back sets.

Unger being out is HUGE.

There's some stat that I heard awhile back where losing a Center reduces a team's chance to make the playoffs by over 70%, making it a more crippling loss than QB.

ugh i wish i could remember where i read that

Put yourself in Lynch's shoes...do you want the 233 pound highly trained starting FB as your lead blocker or a 222 RB who has never taken any reps at FB before?

Look what happened with Coleman out vs the Rams...

Seattle Times:

"Lynch got the ball 18 times, but averaged just 2.9 yards per carry. Turbin served as Lynch’s lead blocker on a number of those carries... If Coleman is out for some time, the Seahawks will have to make a roster move to add a fullback."

Also, I assume Coleman is much better as a pass blocker as well

Out for us:  top pass rusher and second best defensive player DE, two of our top three RBs (maybe three of our top four), KR/PR, best CB, starting OLB (guess it's debatable if Blackburn or Klein should be considered our #1 guy on that side, it's pretty much irrelevant), both starting Gs.  So yea, they still have the upper hand in that department.

Out for us:

"two of our top three RBs"

1)DeAngelo Williams

2)Fozzy Whittaker

"both starting Gs"

3) Amini Silatolu

4) rookie Trai Turner

5) KR/PR Philly Brown

"top pass rusher and second best defensive player"

6) Greg Hardy

"best CB"

7) Bene Benwikere

"starting OLB (guess it's debatable if Blackburn or Klein should be considered our #1 guy on that side, it's pretty much irrelevant)"

8) Chase Blackburn

So yea, they still have the upper hand in that department.

no, SEA is without:

1) their All-Pro C

2) their #1 TE

3) their only FB

4) Percy Harvin

5) their punt returner Bryan Walters (who also became their kick returner to replace Harvin)

6) their #2 CB Byron Maxwell

7) their #3 CB Jeremy Lane

(in their place, SEA will start a guy as their #2 CB who is a 2013 5th R draft pick that has never played a game for SEA before last week named Tharold Simon)

8) MLB Bobby Wagner, who is just as awesome as Luke Kuechly and is their #1 defensive player. if you don't believe that you can read more about that here:

    • I'd rather figure out a way to get Howell from Seattle.  I think he would do really well in Canales offense.  I also think Howell would do great with this offensive line. Thoughts?
    • 30 points a game. People were hoping to get 17-21 with Young at Qb. This week will be a tougher defense sure would be nice to eat off their plate.
