Lol 48-17

Have they watched the panthers this season? They sound like our fans

our secondary has been awful this year, but SEA's secondary has been just as bad:

SEA - 103.9 QB rating allowed (5th-worst in NFL)

CAR - 100.3 QB rating allowed (7th-worst in NFL)

SEA - 68.3% completion % allowed (4th-worst in NFL)

CAR - 70.0% completion % allowed (3rd-worst in NFL)

SEA - 239.0 passing ypg allowed

CAR - 250.7 passing ypg allowed

SEA - 2.0 passing TDs allowed per game

CAR - 2.1 passing TDs allowed per game

SEA - 47.0% 3rd down conversion allowed (6th-worst in NFL)

CAR - 48.4% 3rd down conversion allowed (3rd-worst in NFL)

SEA - 7.0 sacks (3rd worst in NFL)

CAR - 15.0 sacks

David Newton, ESPN:

"Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen is having a career season. The Seattle Seahawks are having a nightmarish season against tight ends.

...

there’s no denying the tight end has been an effective weapon against the Seahawks. Seattle has given up a league-high eight touchdowns against tight ends (worst in NFL) and opposing quarterbacks have a rating of 99.1 -- only two teams have allowed a higher rating -- when throwing to the tight end (3rd-worst in NFL).

Tight ends have a compiled completion percentage of 73.7 against Seattle, according to ESPN Stats and information. Only five teams have allowed a higher percentage.

...

There’s every reason to think Olsen will be a major weapon on Sunday. He leads all NFL tight ends in receiving yards with 493 and is tied with Chicago’s Martellus Bennett for first in catches with 41.

Olsen is coming off a regular-season career-high 105 yards on eight catches in Sunday’s 38-17 loss to Green Bay."

Shula will poo the bed.

Running QBs and the read option have been destroying the GB defense. CAR is going to toy with the GB defense.... oh wait.

Cam ran for 5.9 ypc on GB, should have given him more carries. But we aren't having any problems getting Olsen involved this yr, Olsen is on pace for 94 catches, 1,126 yards, and 11 TDs. He leads all NFL tight ends in receiving yards and is tied with Chicago’s Martellus Bennett for first in catches with 41.

eh these guys have very good fast coverage linebackers... most of them drop back...

Their biggest star, LB Bobby Wagner is out.

from the Seattle Times:

"The linebackers. The Seahawks will once again be without starting middle linebacker Bobby Wagner , which means their three linebackers this Sunday will again be Bruce Irvin and Malcolm Smith on the outside and K.J. Wright in the middle. ... they struggled last week against the Rams. Carolina tight end Greg Olsen is probably Cam Newton’s favorite weapon, and the Seahawks have struggled defending the tight end this year. The defense must play better all around, but the linebackers need to play better"

Seattle Times:

Defending the tight ends: Seattle has allowed a remarkable eight touchdown passes to tight ends this season, which accounts for half of *all* the touchdowns scored against the Seahawks (and 67% of all passing TDs allowed by the Seahawks...Hawks have allowed 12 passing TDs, 3 rushing TD, for a total of 15). That’s a big reason Seattle has been particularly bad defensively inside the red zone, having allowed touchdowns on 13 of 18 possessions inside the 20, (a whooping) 72.2 percent, which ranks 31 st in the NFL (2nd-worst). And now comes another tough tight end challenge in Greg Olsen, who leads the Panthers with 41 receptions (#1 of all NFL TEs) for 493 yards (#1 of all NFL TEs) and five touchdowns (not to mention the 5 TDs by big Kelvin "Red Zone" Benjamin)

Olsen also has been our best at getting those pesky holding & pi flags called his way. He needs to teach KB how to get up off the grass while looking at the closest ref with his arms out and his eyes saying, "What?? You didn't see that??" lol And how to push off without getting caught. lol

I can just imagine Olsen & Kuechly having a beer while discussing TE & LB play. I'd love to be that fly on the wall.

The only true unknowns for this game are special teams on both sides. Gonna' hold my breath & pray during every kick off & punt.
