Gettleman don't screw around

While I understand everyone being all giddy I can't but help to think that gettleman got a little arrogant in the off season and now is having to clean up his mess.

While I commend him for making such a move mid season it sure of hell would have been Etter if he would have done what what nesassarry to not have to do this crap mid season and screw with the dynamic of the team

Believe it or not these guys stick together and I'm sure the decision will not be popular among players nor help them feel confident

And right now we need confidence.

Godfrey should have never been extended and this is just further proof that Rivera takes too long to correct mistakes.

 

I've never seen such a bad player at any position in any sport at the professional level.

 

I am not celebrating the fact that  a man lost his job but I'm certainly happy he will not be playing for this team ever again. I hope he does well in whatever he does going forward but it damn sure won't be football.

 

I would be curious to know who actually made the decision...was it actually Rivera or GMan or both.

 

Next year we'll be needing 2 new Safeties unless we can get anything out of Boston.

We clearly have a way worse pass rush, Interior DL slumping, and still no Safeties....yet even with that Godfrey still stood out as being by far the worst and the stats prove it.

lol he does open your eyes check the week one threads and our game vs sea last year......guy was in a position no one though he could succeed at after a fuggin Achilles injury.....if a player gets pass luke and td it's a automatic td....releasing him doesn't fix the main problems we have on d just a small one

Godfrey was rarely in position even when he was healthy and took hilariously bad angles and got ran over when he actually took a good angle.

 

It sucks he got hurt, like it sucks for anyone who gets hurt, but he was bad and giving up big plays since day 1.

 

Godfrey was a free first down so we just fixed a major problem not a small one. Next issue up is having the D grow a pair and get their toughness back while flocking to the ball.

I'd definitely rather run 2 TE sets with BWill and Olsen than have DWill or any of our RBs atm run up the middle for -2 yards....that is....if DWill could ever see the field to get his negative yardage.  Our OL isn't opening up holes and I'd rather put the game in Cams hands than any  RB we have.

 

With the OL struggles they have done better at pass protection than run blocking but haven't been stellar at either really. Goes to who you want to put the game on...some overpaid RBs that have long worn out their use(especially behind a poo OL). Or Cam Newton...

I kinda feel sorry for the man. He was drafted out of Iowa as a CB and Fox started to go senile at that time and started to draft players and move them to a different positions. We moved him to S, and I remember that interview he did with Panthers.com and they asked him about the move and he said he preferred to play corner. At one point he became a solid S, back and forth between strong and free and eventually he tore his achilles, which was once considered a career ending injury. Not so much anymore, but it definitely takes time to come back. Due to management inability to bring in talent in the cornerback position and trust in the safeties they decided to bring in, Charles once again went through a position change. Back to CB which just wasn't going to go well with the injury. I wish him all the best, but what's next for this team is the next question because he definitely wasn't the only one struggling
