Chances Riverboat Ron gets Canned ?

The front office obviously has a plan and firing RR a year after giving him an extension isn't part of it.

giving him an extension after just one winning season was a mistake. if he can't pull off a winning season this year that means we rewarded a coach for providng us with a 25% success rate.

back to back winning seasons should have been the litmus test.

while i have a problem with the timing of the extension, i don't have a problem with them correcting course if they realized he can't coach well enough to make us consistent winners and think that would be a much better decision than just sticking with what we have because we mistakingly committed too early.

i know there's still time to coreect things, but if we don't and finish with a non-winning season, then we have to consider changing course, regardless of the contract we made with rivera.

all that said, i know this team well enough to know rivera's job is safe.

I think back to the Bengals and Marvin Lewis. In all respects they should have let him go. Unless the office admits that he wasn't provided the proper tools to succeed with. Which they did admit. And committed to giving him the time to rebuild with. And they are better off for it. Unless you want a decade of what the lions had? I would leave RR"s job right where it sits. I get just as sour as anybody watching these games. But I realize that without Tolbert, Stewart, & Williams, there is no playbook. Our team is seriously handicapped so far this season. But the truth is..., If anyone can turn this around? It's Ron. We're still leading our division & have nearly 10 weeks to get into a playoff form. I ain't scared. Let's Go Panthers!!!!!

The only way I see us firing Rivera is if he completely looses the players. Other than that I see us firing our OC. I don't know if we will fire our DC since we had the 2nd ranked defense last year.

Personally I think McDermott isn't that good and the only reason why we had the 2nd ranked defense was because we could cause havoc with only 4 guys rushing and the rest in coverage.

yea remember when he was a Head Coach candidate? We dont have to worry about that anymore

They made the exact same mistake with Dom Capers.

(at least this time it wasn't ten years)

hiw many losing seasons compared to winning seasons is it for the bengals? and how far have they made it in the playoffs in those winning seasons?

hard to say their commitment to lewis has been worth it at this point regardless of present success.
