I read he missed or was late for a meeting Saturday. He's kind of been like Lafell was for us. They kept waiting for this kid to breakout but he never did.

He's got pretty solid hands though. Made a huge catch week 1 against Tampa late in the 4th

Well, to be fair, they let Underwood go pretty quick, and that obviously didn't work out so well for us. I think he's still an FA too. Ugh.

Yeah, but I think that is the issue with our FO.  Too many times we stick with a guy that we shouldn't, and then completely ignore some guys that are available at positions of need that we shouldn't.

 

Underwood just wasn't very good, and I get the feeling that he was signed as a sort of pacifier for everyone because of all of the losses we incurred over the offseason, and that wasn't long after losing Ginn, IIRC.  He just wasn't good.

I don't know...

He's not a burner and i wouldn't consider him a weapon but he's had reliable hands during his career. He can also be had for very cheap. Pretty much the definition of a Gettleman WR signing no?

More like what we already have, but a little younger and probably more athletic. He also returns kind is and punts.

I wouldn't be opposed, but we need more speed. I could see Pettis as the number 3 for a few years.

Pettis is a pretty good possession receiver and a decent (6'3") redzone target. Although he would come cheap,I am not sure we are interested in him. However,he does have a certain amount of skill ,just lost the numbers game to receivers they are trying to develop.
