We Are Missing Something On Defense

Keuechleys heart and talent alone can only carry this defense so far,were missing Hardys strength and muscle in order too win this fight on the defensive side of the ball.

Mitchell got VERY lucky that day. Wallace got behind him on that last second bomb from Tannehill but couldn't come up with it. Mitchell was awful in pass coverage.

He was a good blitzer though, and wasn't afraid to lay someone out. This team is definitely lacking that sort of presence. Wish we could've kept him and put him at SS.

This team is missing the nastiness from Mitchell and Hardy

Between Smith's intesity and aggression on offense and Greg Hardy and Mike Mitchell's agressivness on defense, we were a feared team. We lack true leadership right now and it is showing. You think Smith would be allowing this on offense? You think Hardy and Mitchell would be allowing this on defense? Hell no. They would be lighting a fire under everybody's asses. We just don't have those type of players anymore and now you have a soft group of guys.

Knew our defense would be questionable after signing harper to a two year deal.

No nastiness on this defense. Luke is a good football player, but he's more Tim Duncan than Jordan. We need some nastiness damnit.

I can't help but remember what a Huddler posted what he witness during OTAs while watching this defense so far. He stated that the defense seemed to be goofing off a lot and not very disciplined during practice, not quire his actual words but pretty much the point. He hoped that the behavior was just because it was still preseason and the defense would pull it together during the season. 

 

Maybe someone can pull up that post but it's food for thought.

I was thinking about that tonight.  Hell, we extended Nate Chandler and Mario Addison.  The way he felt about this team, he would have jumped on a cheap extension.  Then Pittsburgh wouldn't have got the chance to over pay him.
