Do you guys not remember the video of Richardson crying at a charity benefit because he was disgusted at the notion of people thinking less of the Panthers Organization due to Hardy? Thinking Richardson has a lack of passion is completely false. He just handles himself a different way. JJ acts like an idiot half the time and had a rape allegation from a stripper. No thanks.

Was he upset over how it looked on thr Panthers or how it looked on thr NFL. Odd he never got all crybaby tears until the media started blasting the NFL.

I don't know how any man could watch the video of Jerry crying at that award ceremony without feeling uncomfortable.  I was embarrassed for him.  I don't know what that was.  It still gives me the creeps to think about it.

 

He could have handled that differently.  A grown ass man should not cry in public.  Sorry if that makes me insensitive but you can cry like a baby out of the public eye.  Seemed to me like he went out on that podium with at least a good notion that he was gonna be weeping.

 

I could totally understand a player seeing that performance and losing some motivation to go out on the field the next week and assert his will.

The fact that Richardson played in the NFL doesn't mean sh!t. I don't know if he has passion or not but he lacks the vision and leadership necessary to put a winning program together. Being respected and liked by your employees and peers does not translate to being a winner. Yes he is a very good businessman and he did bring the NFL to Charlotte but that doesn't mean he should get a free pass on everything that came afterwards. He is a class act and a gentleman who has earned respect but JR is the elephant in the room.

I think most people are upset that we just let guys walk last year without even offering them a contract. Wouldn't it have at least been better to offer some of these guys something, instead of just letting them walk without a phone call?

You can argue we didn't have the money (Hardy 13 Million, Bell 2.2 Million, Gano 12.4 Million, Decoud 3.75, Roman Harper 4.5, Cotchery 8.1 Million ect.), but some of these contracts of players we lost aren't so bad when you look at the talent drop off. Especially when realizing how much the cap will increase of the next couple years, and that we could have backloaded their contracts like the Steelers have done with Mitchell's, only 2.2 Million the first year. At some point we need a DB worth a damn if we want to win, and we all know that drafts are gambles in the end. What would have been so bad at say offering Mitchell a five year deal, backloaded, even at the high price of 25 Million? If we sign a safety next year we'll have to pay them regardless of being "cap free". What if instead of paying Decoud and old ass Harper to suck we payed Mitchell to be a solid starter and kept Lester or brought in another cheap young player?

 

Several have basically said that they would have taken less to play in Carolina. I think Gettleman has a serious PR issues. Maybe he just thinks he'll get a better deal if players come to him crawling after testing the waters (under evaluating talent), or maybe he just overvalues veteran experience with the exception of Smith. I mean hell we gave Cotchery a five year deal and he's already 32 years old, and we're definitely not seeing that "touchdown scorer" peformance that Gettleman was supposedly looking for, actually does Cotchery even have a touchdown this year? It's also worth noting how many players that have left and made negative comments about the organization, or have commented on how little communication the offices have with the players. Remember when Beason found out he was traded via twitter? It was leaked to the press before they even gave him a call.

Well said. Some people naturally have a stoic nature about them. Being introverted doesn't mean he is not passionate for the game or for the players. I've never heard former players say anything about a lack of passion or interest from Jerry. In fact it's quite the opposite.

The Panthers do not have talent. Simple and plain. Regardless they get paid well to do it and the coaches get paid well to get it out of them.

The players need to man up and give the effort for their salary.

Gettleman is responsible for the field assembled and if anyone here thinks Jerry is pleased, well you would be mistaken.

Roger Goodell bans Hardy from the NFL. He doesn't play, he doesn't get paid a single dime.

The 49ers basically did it. Even People within the organization want Ray McDonald suspended and the GM basically said no not until due process plays itself out. I am not saying we should tell Goodell to go f*ck himself but he should of handled the situation better.

I know Ray hasn't been convicted yet and Hardy has but then again Hardy is still going to court and appealing the charges. My question is why can't the NFL either suspend him for 6 games already or let him play? The games he is missing probably won't even count towards the suspension. Since the NFL is handling the situation this way it's like Hardy is being penalized even more which is unfair.

The fact of the matter is Hardy, guilty or not should be playing after missing 6 games.
