Godfrey going to break the scale lol...

But yea Harper is obviously just old because he is in the right spots and knows defense he just may as well have his walker out there because he's slow as fug....how the hell is he on kick coverage.....shows just how much we lack depth....this team needs WAY more speed on both sides of the ball.

GMan likes big bodies but speed kills buddy.

Well, I take PFF with a grain of salt, but others swear by it. LOL.

Hey, people, what do you have to say about this snapshot of the team? You want to take those blinders off? The stats may not tell the WHOLE picture, but they do eerily represent what's going on here.

There will always be a few people who always think that everything is ok, but I think the majority of people on this site agree that the team has issues.

The difference of opinions are centered more around on who to blame and what should be done. The people with binders on are those who thought we were actually in better shape going into this season than we really are and that all of our problems can be fixed very quickly and cheaply.

Everyone wants to complain about our cheap FAs not doing well but there is a reason they are cheap. If they were more likely to do well they wouldn't be cheap.

In my opinion a bigger problem is a lack of production of our higher priced players. CJ, DWill, Stew, Godfrey, and Hardy have 5 of the top 8 cap hits for thus year. Needless to say we aren't getting our money's worth out of theses players. Some of this is because of injury, some is unforeseen off the field situations, and some is because of poor decisions by the previous front office.

The other problem with this team in my opinion is a lack quality young players on cheap rookie contracts. The best chance of value for a front office is players on rookie contracts. Once a player becomes a free agent you pretty much get what you pay for.

How many quality players do we have on rookie contracts? Cam, Luke, Star, KK, KB? Just because a player starts for us that doesn't mean he is a quality player. Personally I think we got some good rookies this year but the fact is they are still rookies and there is usually some growing pains with that.

How many quality 3rd and 4th year players do we have on rookie contracts?

Overall I think our cap situation is heading in the correct direction and we seem to have some young talent to work with so I feel good about that. Hopefully we can continue that trend. Next offseason will be interesting with some players coming up for new contracts. Also some decisions will have to made about some long time players on this team.

I haven't even addressed coaching. That is the other variable in the equation. Actually you can adjust that quicker then you can the other problems. There is no salary cap for coaches or limited draft picks. The question becomes do you think the coaches are getting more or less out of the talent you do have.

Hate to say it, but Godfrey is like a race horse that's trying to run the Kentucky Derby with a broken leg. Sometimes you just have to send them off to pasture.

I figured Bell would suck eggs, but Chandler has disappointed me this year. We need to invest high picks on LT and RT next year, didn't think we'd miss Jordan Gross this much, but you don't realize what you had until you don't have it anymore.

I do believe its because we are missing Hardy and Mitchell. Our current safeties have no idea on how to fill run gaps.

Captain can be replaced but Godfrey is out there on one leg.

Harper is so slow, that I think he needs a walker out there sometimes.

I just can't bring myself to believe we went from 2nd best to 2nd worst just because of those players.

If we really did that's depressing, but I still think the Defense has something to prove (minus Godfrey/Harper)

I honestly find it hard to believe that there are 12 offenses in the NFL that are worse than ours.

You don't watch very many other games then. There is a reason why the panthers still lead the division. The falcons offense for one with all their touted offensive weapons, Ryan, Roddy, Julio etc have been very lackluster.

What did people expect with the O-line? That we were just going to convert a DL to OL, move sorry ass Bell to LT, start a rookie, and start a OL who had season ending injury last year and be a good O-line? I'm not surprised at all that our O-line is rated at the bottom. Not to mention our sorry D-line (besides Short). Both lines are rated horribly and if you can't win in the trenches, you don't have a chance.

How does hardy have a positive rating?

Can't imagine another team having a worse OL than ours. Gonna be hard to win games with such poor play in the trenches.

Defense

DL and Secondary playing god awful. Cant believe just how far our D has fallen.
