The Traditional QB Still Rules the League

This is Cam Derangement Syndrome. This is not an original idea worthy of a thread. Without Cam, we would be near the Raiders and Jaguars right now. There are 52 other men on the roster, a head coach, a GM, I'd argue every last one of them should be getting more criticism than Cam except maybe JJ Jansen.

I hope every last one of you talking poo about Cam tonight has a bad Monday tomorrow. I hope your alarm clock doesn't go off. I hope you get stuck in traffic. I hope your shitty boss yells at you and I hope customers complain that you're being too slow with their fries. Please get a life.

Dude, just chill. Allow people to express their opinions. Afterall you were here last year betting money that Cam will never lead a game winning drive.

Since then he's led us on a ton of game winning drives and has been the team MVP this season. So guess what? I shut my jabroni ass mouth about Cam Newton. Please learn the game of football. Don't just follow whichever player has the ball at all times. That's what my mom and my grandma do. You want to be better than they do right? Football is more than just the quarterback.

What are you talking about stepping up in the pocket? Go and watch his play from last week. There was that Brandon William completion where he climbed the pocket to hit him on a crossing route for 16yds and a first down.

Yes, but in the same breath he will do a 360 in the pocket, like today.  There's no question our O-line is bad, but that's no excuse.  The Patriots O-line right now isn't necessarily the top in the league.  It's very average.  The Packers also have an average O-line.  I will say Cam doesn't have any speed at the receiver position, but I wonder if he was known more for his passing, would we be having a little more success in spite of all our offensive woes.  Again, look at Brady.  He has no real receivers outside his tight end, and yet his team is competing every year.  It's arguable if the Packers didn't have Aaron Rodgers, would they be nothing but an average team with their receivers?  Jordy Nelson can ball, but I think Rodgers make them look better than they actually are.

I'm not yet convinced Cam can do what these other guys are doing.  I should be able to see that potential in Cam even with this poorest offense, but I just can't see a consistent year in and year out competitor.  That is having the skills to light teams up consistently with his arm.  He's yet to throw for over 300 yards in a long while.  We can't ignore what Flacco is doing with Smitty.  Things like that.  Plus, I'm not confident in our ability to put the right coaching around Cam to utilize his ability.

What about Wilson last year he's not a "traditional" qb

Wilson was playing with an outstanding defense.  It was the best last year, limiting teams to the least amount of points per game.  This year they are getting beat.  Wilson won't be able to lead that team on his throwing arm.

Cam has been making most of his throws from the pocket. I don't see what you are seeing. The only time he leaves is if there is interior pressure.

As for thrwoing for 300yds, that is on the coach. Coach wants ball control offense with safe plays. Is it a coincidence that he has not had that since Chud was OC apart from our loss at ARI last season?

Where were you when the Panthers in the off season sunk all of our resources into the defense?

Now you come in October screaming about offense?

And please log off. The Packers have an average O-line?

So how about allow another poster come to that realization on his own or better yet, give him some evidence to disprove what he is saying rather than jump on him?

You also drafted Bo fugging Wallace in your mock. Bo is the furthest thing from traditional, so do you just not like Cam or?

Of course Bo has some of the same qualities as Cam.  Giving Cam an under study might help him develop his own skills.  That mock of course was done earlier.  You can see in my other thread I also toy around with the thought of trading Cam.  I just don't know if I want to invest a 100 million+ dollar contract on Cam, if he is never going to turn into a Peyton with athletic ability.
