Making A Trade... Safety on the block(Titans)?

It's been said that Tony Carter the CB from Denver can be had for draft considerations... Could be a Captain type player where we play him in the slot when necessary & let him outside otherwise, definitely cannot be worse than Cason has been... Has speed which we are desperately lacking in the secondary

If the team loses today, does Gettlemen have an option?  He really needs to make a move.  However, if we beat Seattle and especially if New Orleans loses, do you make a trade with a 2.5 game lead?

I really think the decision here will be based on 2 things--is a player available for a decent asking price?  Does Rivera have no hope of fixing the problem?

If the plan is to reinstate Hardy (if they feel he is going to win the case), then they could simply wait for him as long as they are in first place in the South.  I am not 100% convinced he will never play for the Panthers again.

We're 7 games in, I think regardless of what happens today we have a pretty good sample size of what this team is. Very inconsistent, still rely on bounces to go our way.

Our 2 wins against Detroit and Chicago were evident of that. You could easily argue both teams beat themselves. Some bad turnovers by both teams.

Our 3 losses have all been UGLY. This team as it stands now wouldn't stand a chance in the playoffs if we were to somehow limp into them. I think a move needs to be made at this point.

Like you said, is there a playoff worth trading for that can make an impact. I say yes, but who knows.

Even last year--where would we be if SF was not banged up (10-9 win), if Wallace catches that pass, if Kuechly gets flagged vs. Brady, if Ryan's center made a good snap, etc.?  Heck, just those 4 games alone would have dropped us to 8-8--which is more descriptive of the team we actually had.  We got lucky last year.

I want to see a trade regardless, but it seems winning--no matter how we do it--causes us to hold our cards.

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
