What's the 3-4 have to do with how bad our Defense is?

It's a more difficult question to answer than you think. The fact we can't sustain drives leads to more opportunities for the opposing teams offense. Not to say they won't score every chance they get but when you can't sustain drives it affects more than energy levels.

So what you're saying is that Rivera and his coaches have the utter inability to learn?

What I'm saying is our offensive kind has no idea who to block because they don't have the ability. Kalil can move around and help out whoever but all it takes is a linebacker coming through and blowing up the running back because the tackles suck.

In the losses we haven't, but in the wins we've had pass rush.  I have more faith in DL then you do it seems.

 

We didn't get a pass rush until the 2nd half of the bears and lions and none vs Bengals. Both games we had to come back from. We really could be 1-6 right now

he just fell ass backwards into a string of wins last season. it was an anomaly not the usual

1 winning season in 4 is enough to get fired

Too bad Riverboat Ron got a new contract. But if this team continue to suffer I can see him getting let go. John Fox was fired because he couldn't put back to back winning seasons together. Should we keep Rivera if he can't?

Today was bad, but as I watch the 49ers get crushed by the Broncos I realize that sometime you just meet greatness and are unable to overcome it. Hopefully the the players and coaches can get it together. The only positive is our division suck this year.

 

We have been meeting greatness for 4 out of 5 weeks now. At that point, you question yourself.

Yeah, that doesn't work. I guess we met greatness 4 times this year as we have been getting our asses kicked.

Yet a pass rush was there in the wins, even if its only in the second half.  That to me signals that there's still talent there on the d-line minus Hardy, its either just not being coached properly or its just not clicking with some of the players.  Today was clearly a case a bad defense (or at least playing bad) running into one of the best offenses in the league.
