the official "Dave Gettleman fuging sucks" thread

The fans who think they could have done a better job are pretty much always morons.

Likewise the ones for whom the most intelligent comment they can muster is "Everybody sucks! Fire them all and start over again every year until we win a championship!"

Why do people fail to realize that Gettleman is trying to keep us competitive while still using pennies that Hurney left us with.

You can say so in so was available but was he worth the reach? It is tough to watch, and more frustrating than anyone can imagine but if we manage to come through these tight years with some talent on the team.  All the haters will be jumping on the "Gettleman is a godsend" bandwagon within a year or two.

Just wait after the Hurney mess is over.  Gettleman will get us what we need every year.  If not next year or 2016 for sure.

We're 3-3-1 still leading the NFC South.  We beat NO and ATL we will have a pretty tight hold on the conference.

I hope we get our defensive woos out of the way very soon.

The morons that think Gettleman is the problem are as accurate as their opinion is that changing him fixes everything.

If you are blaming Gettlemen for this mess, you don't understand football or the NFL.

Last year, we were solid at both ends and had a decent ss, so we could stop the run in the nickel--to hide the fact that our CBs sucked.  Things beyond Gettlemen's control took over--he could not match the offers given by Pittsburgh or Minnesota to our DBs.  He could not foresee Hardy's situation.

At T, the coaching staff felt good about Bell and Chandler and Williams.  They were wrong, not Gettlemen.  With a mobile QB, some might say that the T position is devalued a bit here, but when Gettlemen did not foresee Cam's lack of mobility due to injury, this gamble did not pay off.

Who would want to work for a shitty boss?

Maybe his personality deterred players from signing here.

Ask anybody who plays for the Patriots.

Granted, a lot goes into a free agent's decision where to sign, but I'm pretty sure the question of "will the GM be nice to me" isn't all that high on a lot of guys' priorities.

You do when you're paying the other just as much if not more. I was against tagging Hardy. Too much you can with that 13 million other than pay a guy who doesn't even show up in big games.

So paying one of the best young DEs in the game 13m/1y is dumb but paying an old, declining WR 29m/3y is wise? Also with the tag you increase the chance of signing a long term deal with said player if you want to go that route.

The same people calling for DG's head were the same people praising Hurney for the Double Trouble contracts a few years ago.

Funny how those contracts, along with CJ's and Godfrey's are the reason that this team couldn't sign a quality LT, CB, and S.

GMs get judged on a portfolio of work of 5+ years not after an embarrassing loss.

S. Smith seemed like a mistake at the time but I don't know all the ins and outs.

I'm not sure what O-Line free agents we could have gotten. Good ones are gold.

Enough good draft decisions. Getting financial house in order...

I say B so far

Goes back to Madden Syndrome. I really hate blaming a video game for this, but what else can it be?

I can fix the worst team on Madden in one offseason, it should work in real life too.
