the official "Dave Gettleman fuging sucks" thread

he did try to go after several free agent tackles but guess what the Panthers have no money. Why? Marty Hurney thought it wiser to invest in RB's instead of Oline. I think Gettleman is going to get it right. His vision is to build up the Oline and Dline, but it is going to take time. In our present microwave, madden society no one wants to hear that. Who was available in the draft in the 2nd round better than who we have presently on the line. Our 3rd round pick on the line Traylor was starting to play well until he got hurt today. We had needs at Dline and Oline. Have you seen Morgan Moses play, who everyone wanted? He has been terrible. It is all about your draft position and who is available when it is your turn to pick. I wish it were like Madden and we could make unrealistic trades and fix everything overnight but it is not going to happen.

True but who would have though Hardy was going to do what he was going to do. You don't let elite pass rushers walk away but the Smith, Williams, Tolbert, Stewart deals were already in place before Gettlemen.

You do when you're paying the other just as much if not more. I was against tagging Hardy. Too much you can with that 13 million other than pay a guy who doesn't even show up in big games.

Most of this team personnel wise was built by Marty Hurney, and we already fired that guy, but I'm surprised that not enough people realize the lasting impact his decisions still have on this team.

Actually I'm not surprised since every time the Panthers lose a game the fans want everybody fired and traded except for steve smith

I see your point. I think the guy they shouldn't have let get away was Ginn. Miss his special teams skill and speed to stretch field. I just think we would have more flexibility to keep guys such as Hardy and add more pieces if Hurny didn't tie so much money into three running backs. The good thing is the Panthers are still in first and maybe they will right the ship before it is too late.

Gettleman is responsible for putting players on this team that give this team it's best chance at winning. Can't say he's done that.

We're 3-3-1 leading our division with a complete patchwork team other then 5 players...Cam, KB, Luke, CJ, and TD.  We've had the worst cap issues in the league the past two seasons.  Yet still, despite our lack of talent/cap space and our reliance on one year rental players have gone 15-7 over that time.

Yeah fire everyone.

Hurney screwed the cap, no denying that. I just don't think that can be a fix all excuse for Dave. It's his job to fix it while fielding a competitive team. Not easy to do, but it is his job. I think the way he deals with players rubs them the wrong way, and he under values guys that he doesn't realize he needs.
