This Is All Gettleman People

It is all Gettleman's fault. He shouldn't have franchise tagged Hardy. He shouldn't have allowed Mike Mitchell and Captain Munnerlyn to leave without replacing them. He shouldn't have allowed Jordan Gross and Travelle Wharton to be replaced by UNDRAFTED FREE AGENTS on each side of the line. Every position that somebody left has a UDFA in their spot now. Did you think about that? Ted Ginn, who is an exceptional return man, replaced by Philly Brown and Bersin. Jordan Gross, a borderline HOF tackle, replaced by Nate Chandler who was a DT this time a season and a half ago. Byron Bell, one of the worst statistical RT in the game last year PROMOTED to the blind side. Melvin White stepping in for Captain Munnerlyn.

STEVE SMITH. Gone for no reason and replaced by a rookie and two ancient veterans who were never nearly as good as Smith to begin with.

ZERO interest in bringing in players that were long shots for whatever reason that might help us be competitive. Guys that have been traded, waived, or exiled for whatever reason that needed a place to play were never considered. Gettleman wanted this year to be painful. He even warned us that he was going to dismantle this team with his "gotta get worse to get better", bullshit philosophy. Sure, there's more money in the HB's than there should be.... big fugin deal people. That's the kind of things that GM's get paid to work AROUND. Not to allow it to derail your entire team.

The team was in place and a lot of the moving parts packed up and went elsewhere and we plugged absolute garbage in their place. Zero excuse for it. And it has nothing to do with Hurney. Hell, you could even contrive a way to apologize for Rivera with as bad as his defense got neutered in the secondary of what was ALREADY one of the weakest units in football. But no, Antoine Cason will be fine to replace Munnerlyn. Thomas deCoud will be fine to replace Mike Mitchell. We'll draft Kony Ealy in the 2nd round instead of addressing obvious holes in the offensive line and secondary. That one sure paid off.

People who blame this trainwreck of a team on a GM who's been here for 1.5 seasons are short sighted and ultimately idiots. Stop looking at the periphery and realize that we have 80 million invested in a group of backs who I'm becoming more and more convinced will be out of the league in a few years.

We have 13 mil and the franchise tag on a guy who played one game bc he put himself in a terrible position in his oersonal life.

We have another 12-14 mil invested in a DE who is nothing more than complimentary now.

Our second best rusher along with Hardy got a 16 game ban.

And our offensive coordinator, who DG didn't hire is a freakin idiot.

The OL is a huge problem...it's not the only problem.

Yep millions of dead dollars wasted on your # WR that is cut for no reason...........Picking a DE instead of OT that you need badly.

I think Gettleman has been caught out trying to play moneyball. His 'hogmollies' approach had clearly backfired and now this season is essentially a write-off.

It's silly to blame it all on Gettleman though, he came into a situation that was fugged from the get go and he deserves the time to try to right the ship. Rivera and Shula on the other hand have had their chances and shown that they are incapable of running a consistent team.
