Marty Hurney hasn't been here for some time now. It's time to stop blaming him. For some reason we are the inky team in the league that has to scrape the absolute bottom of the barrel in spite of the fact that most teams in the league are facing some kind of cap dilemma

 

Yea..it doesn't work that way since the contracts he gave are still around....Hurney gone...contracts here.....sooooo......

You could be a NFL head coach but you'd still be wrong if you think none of these issues are coach related. If your team isn't disciplined, you can't call a play that works, can't manage the clock, players don't know routes, calling plays that don't play to your strengths or the opposing teams weaknesses, and finally ignoring issues of a player/players and still fielding them without acknowledging their bad play.

I don't think it's all the players.

I've blamed Rivera multiple times but not today.

Bud I've got more experience in a football locker room than you ever will and I can tell you right now that today's game is not an indication of coaching.

Missed tackles, poor throws, blown coverages, etc... That's not coaching lol.

I think you're mostly right, but I do believe there's an element of coaching issues as well.

Regardless of how much Rivera is (or isn't) to blame though, I do see a very real possibility that he's the guy who pays the big price.

No it's not.  As long as his bad contracts continue to haunt this team he's to be blamed.  It's not like DG and Rivera looked at FA's in the off season and said "no, fug that guy."  They were like, "we have literally no money to sign you."

I don't have the knowledge to be a head coach at even the NCAA level.

That's what people on this board need to recognize.

Our knowledge compared to even the worst NFL coaches is minimal.

There is not another player on the roster that can play nickel back.

So why is this an argument?

We expect Godfrey to get best and acknowledge that there is not really anything that can be done.

The team is cap strapped and there isn't another nickel on the roster.

I think you just proved everyone's point that it is a personnel issue.

If Luke was playing good and Harper was still playing bad I'd certainly question the coaches for not making a change.

However, the entire team looks like horse.

There is not one person that you can look at and say "it's your fault".

The team as a whole has poo'd the bed.

And you just proved my point that it is mostly coaching. When the whole team is playing like poo, that's coaching.
