Sam Mills a Semi-Finalist

I am pretty sure he is a longshot but just maybe he gets in.

If he does, does he go in as a Panther or a Saint?  Most would believe he would go in as a Panther.  Our first.

What a fitting tribute to a great player and an outstanding individual.

Sam Mills played the majority of his career in New Orleans and is more of a Saint from a strictly football perspective. However, he is probably more well-known, & remembered, as a Panther. He was a great player here at the end of his career & the on field leader of our franchise in it's infancy then became a coach & was an integral part of our Super Bowl team & now is the face of our franchise & motto. I'm sure the team would fight for him to go in as a Panther, & his family ould probably pick Carolina.

Don't takd this wrong but if he was still alive he'd probably go in as a Saint. But since he lost a battle with cancer, & the impact he left on this franchise with his inspiration, I'd say he would go in as a Panther. It's moot though, I highly doubt he ever gets in.

Julius Peppers will be the first "true" Panther to get into the Hall of Fame. (Reggie White, etc)

I remember when he as apart of that Saint Defense.  He was an awesome linebacker and good team leader.   But you're right he left a bigger mark (as indicated by his statue) on the Carolina Panthers.

Julius Peppers will be the first DRAFTED Panther in the Hall but if Sam goes in as a Panther.  IMO he'll be our first HOFer.

NFL HOFers don't go for a certain team, reggie white is counted as a panther and he played 1 season with us.

but to general NFL fans, Mills is mostly remembered as a saint, made 4 pro bowls with them and was a member of the dome patrol. he became a panther very late into his career.

I always thought they did too.  However, I just looked it up.

An enshrinee, however, is not asked to “declare,” nor does the Hall of Fame “choose” a team under which a new member is enshrined.  When elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, an individual is recognized for his accomplishments as a player, coach, or contributor. - See more at: http://www.profootballhof.com/hof/SelectionProcessFAQ.aspx#sthash.4FOkddnT.dpuf
