It has to be, at least in part, a move to unload some salary in preparation to sign Wilson long term and get something in return.  I just read he's not guaranteed any money beyond this year, but he's schedule to make around 40 million over the next 4 years.

They could miss it at 10-6 or 11-5 with how well Arizona is playing and the NFC East and North teams fighting for wildcard spots (I see both wildcards being at least 11-5). Thank god for us the NFC South sucks this year because there's no way we could get a wildcard in the NFC.

Tate is a much bigger loss. Like I said, losing Harvin isn't going to make or break their playoff hopes. I saw a Tweet comparing Wilson's quarterback rating with Harvin on the field to when he's not. It's much higher without Harvin.
