Two game-changers:

2 minute charge batteries that last 20 years...

and cold fusion reactors that will fit in a truck (in ten years)

I'm hopeful, and I can't wait.

Trying to reinvent "environment friendly" poo that has been around for over a century.

The Diesel engine was originally ran on peanut oil, & will run on about any type of oil. Which is called a renewable energy source. It's dirt cheap to manufacture long-lasting incredibly reliable & fuel efficient diesel engines. Would also be just as easy to grow renewable fuel source such as peanuts or corn than to process & deplete the earth of oil, a precious fossil fuel.

Besides, it's not like batteries are exactly healthy for the planet.

Alas, I guess it's more interesting to try & reinvent the wheel. I'm sure it's also more profitable that way.

Still driving my '61 Ford Thunderbird and only driving that. Won't drive any car made after 1972, even if my Bird goes at any point.

Why? I still have my first vehicle ever; an old '89 Silverado 1500 4x4. I'll drive if it snows or if I need to haul something but that's about it. Old vehicles are death traps compared to new vehicles.
