One thing to remember about NYC, there are about as many people there as the entire state of NC. A large % of them don't even speak English. A large % of them don't like sports, and a large % of the ones that do like sports, like other sports, like Soccer or Baseball.

 

In sheer numbers, I'm sure the Giants had plenty of fans watching, but NYC is not a sports only town like Cleveland.

More peope in the NYC market watched that game than exist in the Charlotte market. That is why they are significant.

The teams in the NFC East have combined for a poo ton of Superbowls. We have a very large NFC East fanbase in Charlotte. It doesn't matter what the teams have done in the past 2 years. They get ratings.
