ESPN: Browns QB Brian Hoyer completed 39% of his passes in Week 7 loss, the worst comp pct by any QB in a game this season (min. 15 attempts)

Grantland:

-Denver: as a unit, the Broncos offense playing about as well as they did during their historic 2013-14 season. Combine that with an improved defense, featuring some valuable new pieces and led by a revived Von Miller, and you get the most frightening team in football.

-Dallas: Defenses are so exhausted from having to chase DeMarco Murray around that by the time Romo’s dropping back to pass, he’s having an easy time doing it. (And having Dez Bryant doesn’t hurt.)

-Cleveland: For the past month and a half, the Browns have been maybe the most exciting team in the league. They were running all over opposing defenses, chucking the ball downfield, and were just endlessly entertaining. Yesterday? Not so much. One of the league’s best offenses managed 266 yards and six points against the Jaguars. Cleveland’s running backs, who’ve been great all year, averaged 2.21 yards per carry. Cleveland’s success started with the offensive line, which saw a major shakeup this week with the loss of (All-Pro) center Alex Mack. With Mack gone, the Browns shifted right guard John Greco to center and started former Seahawk Paul McQuistan at guard. All that moving around means a loss of continuity and a downgrade at two positions instead of one. It showed.

The Denver OL is 5th-best in the NFL with only 8 sacks allowed. Meanwhile, the Denver "Orange Crush" defense is #3 in the NFL with 21.0 sacks (3.0 shy of being #1). Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware are #1 and #2 in the NFL with 8.0 and 7.0 sacks, respectively

Washington Post:

Seahawks: The defense remains considerably less imposing than it was during the Super Bowl run. Rams QB Austin Davis looked far from intimidated Sunday.

Bengals: QB Andy Dalton threw for only 126 yards. RB Giovani Bernard managed 17 rushing yards. The defense surrendered 506 yards by the Colts.

Browns: Just when it seemingly was time to begin believing in the Browns, they went out and lost to the previously winless Jaguars. How very Cleveland Brown-like of them.

Bucs: The Buccaneers had a bye ... Unfortunately for the Buccaneers, the schedule dictates that they now must resume playing.

Titans: why not give rookie Zach Mettenberger a look? What harm could it do at this point?

Raiders: At least the Raiders have found a use for QB Matt Schaub, now having him serve as the holder on FGs and extra points.

Andre Ellington performing at historic clip for Cardinals. ... only four Cardinals players since 1960 have more yards from scrimmage than Ellington's 653 through six games. Even more impressive, Ellington has done this with a partially torn tendon in his foot. The injury has kept Ellington from practicing ... Bruce Arians said: "the problem is he's not practicing...but he's gutting it up and playing pretty well on Sundays." ... Arians ruled out the idea of Ellington practicing this week. Said Arians: "No, he can't hardly walk." Given what we know about his physical condition, Ellington's performance on Sundays has been remarkable.
