Cam has never been a run first qb. I'm tired of people thinking he was.

From the moment he stepped into the NFL, Newton's had this uncanny ability to stand tall and stoically in the pocket (whether he locked on to a receiver or not), then run at-seemingly always the right time--when the line broke down, and/or his receivers were locked up.

 

Cam was always a "Pocket QB", who also had uncanny/unreal "running ability" since his arrival. But he wasn't a run QB first.

 

Ironically, smart Panther fans been saying from day one that Newton was a better pocket QB (and still is) than Kaepernick, RG3, and Russell Wilson, and that's only proven to be true each year each they have been in the league.
