Snake drafts are easier , what happens is most people just go down the pre draft rankings and all the players fall in line from draft ranking until round 7 or 8 and it favors the top teams with picks.

 

Auction draft gives every team the option to draft all the players regardless of where your slotted to pick. The 14 and the 1st team all have shots at Lebron James or Anthony Davis the consensus top 2 picks this year. With an auction draft you pay the price for having the first pick and it not being just some randomly selected mess. If you want 4 second round picks you get the chance , if you want the 3 top players you get that chance , if you want a team of 10 7 th round picks you get that chance.

 

If you want fair do auction , if you want easy do snake ( if we end up doing snake need to set the pick to 30 second clock not the 1:30 thats way to long for people just to go down the list and pick the rankings).

While I understand the points you are making here an auction draft doesn't really work well unless all of the league show up for the draft.

if people dont show up they can set their rankings and auction values just like they would do if they are not showing up for a snake draft. They are going to bid on players til they are out of money and keep the values high for the top talent , either let them get some talent or outbid them, the best thing to do is lay off the top talent and only let the teams taht dont show up nominate the top talent. 

 

I like being able to vote on which draft we chose , with 14 teams i see the fairest way to draft being auction. That being said if its snake draft i will roll with it its not gonna end my interest or anything like that , im just throwing out why i prefer auction. Just like in your opinion you prefer snake because you dont think the auctions work well unless everyone shows up.
