You know it's hockey season in Chicago when you got some guy who hasn't shaven in a month sitting next to you at the bar in full Blackhawks gear for an October game.

As I sit here typing on my phone it's amazing how many people are sitting at this bar typing on their phone.

When I was in college I covered sports for the newspaper. My first assignment was girl's volleyball, and I didn't know (still don't know) poo about the sport.

 

I went to the match/game/contest and couldn't tell you a damn thing that happened. But it was the most amazing sporting event of my life.

 

To top it off, the coach was about 28, former college volleyball player and smoking hot, and I got to interview her at practice the next day. Jeepers.  What a tough gig.
