UPDATED THROUGH WEEK 11

Developments:

  • Benjamin leads the group in TDs, receptions, and has almost caught Smith in YPG.
  • Brown surpasses Avant in YPG despite fewer opportunities.
  • Cotchery is now the only Panthers WR (not counting Webb) to not have a TD. Wow.
And my gosh, have you seen how athletic Brandon Lafell looks lately?

Do you not remember those 2 end arounds LaFell had in Carolina? Both went for HUGE gains. LaFell never had elite speed but dude was a like a RB. He had some juke to him.

What garbage weapons we had last year !!!

All we had was Smitty, who's on pace to go for 1,164 this season...

Olsen, who's on pace to go for 1,045...

LaFail, who's on pace to go for 921...

And stud RB's Williams and Stewart and a very solid offensive line and Pro Bowl fullback Mike Tolbert.

We just need to "build around Cam"...

I wouldn't look too much into KB leading. I love the guy, but at least 25% of his stats have come in garbage time, while most everyone else has gotten their stats in regulation.

Still, in hindsight Steve, KB, Olsen, LaFell and Ginn would have been a beastly receiving corps.

It should against NFLN Fan Law to continue to calls RBs studs when they haven't been such for years.

If there was a real life fantasy draft....those dudes wouldnt be viewed as studs

To be completely honest, Williams had one amazing season, one pretty good season, and many shitty seasons.

Stewart has had one pretty good season, and the rest have been all poo.

So no one should ever call either of them stud RB's.

Williams and Stewart have been damn good NFL running backs.

While spitting time (almost unheard of in today's NFL), Williams has rushed for 6,825 yards and averaged an extremely impressive 4.8 yards a carry. Stewart has rushed for 4,339 yards and a very nice 4.6 yards a carry.

Over the course of their career's the duo has combined for an average of 110 yards a game and 4.7 yards a carry...

Those are extremely good numbers.

Damn 98 targets for KB and only 52 catches. Though not all of those misses have been on him, think about how incredible his numbers would be if he'd hauled in 60-65 of those?? We would be in much better shape record wise and KB would be top 5 receiver.

Hopefully he can get those drops under control and learn to run tighter routes. If you recall, this was the knock on him coming out of FSU so these shortcomings are not at all surprising.

Give Ricky Prohel a solid offseason to work with KB and a full set of OTAs/ training camp with cam and he may come back next year a complete beast.

Assuming we address the o-line in the offseason...

Sucks I'm already thinking offseason.

That's ridiculous. Dude has averaged over 4 YPC every season until this year. Four of those seasons were over 5 YPC. And then there are the big plays he has made on screen passes. And the dude is one of the least fumbling RB's in the history of the NFL.

He has had a terrific career. I just hate that the team around him has been so mediocre much of the time.

I respect how little Deangelo Williams has fumbled during his career. For a RB, that can't be understated. But in 9 years he's topped 850 yards in a season only twice, and averages less than 60 yards per game. That's not exactly lighting the world on fire.

Splitting time unheard of? Maybe 5 out of 32 teams have a bellcow. All teams split reps in today's NFL

Poor Ted. He could have been really useful here instead of being buried in Arizona's depth chart.

And wasting away on a horribly constructed team instead of playing on possibly the best team in the NFL, contending for a title and playing for one of the best coaches in the league (whom I suggested we hire prior to his departure from Pittsburgh).
