It's nothing new. It's like a pattern.  Bad Game, BG, Good game, GG, Non-existant, BG, GG, GG, NE.

 

It's not his talent it's his inconsistency.  Maybe the NE coaching staff have fixed it,  maybe Lafell has fixed it.  Maybe it's Brady throws a softer ball and he can catch it better.  Who knows.

I've never really had a problem with LaFell outside of his speed and occasional drops. He's made some big plays for us and if my serves me, a lot of 3rd Down Conversions. The Patriots offense is more timing and execution.

  Brady makes EVERY WR that has ever played for him better. Brady puts the ball in the bread basket when it is expected. Cam's accuracy is nowhere near what Brady's is--again, Brady is one of the most accurate QBs of all time, so no knock on Cam.  Brady simply has the ability to make average look good, good look great.

He has had 2 good games including his career best.

 

I didn't make the thread and I don't know why people are so obsessed with him. It's the opposite actually. I think people hate when he does well because it somehow makes our choices less justified. He is having a nice resurgence under a great QB. I am happy for him.

LaFell's game is Buffalo was equivalent to his against the Giants last season.

Anyone who's seen the Pats play this year know he's still the same inconsistent frustrating WR. He shows these great flashes from time to time but those are to far and few inbetween to be getting paid what he is.

I wanted to see Lafell do well here but we kept waiting and waiting. What sealed his fate for me was when Smitty went down and we needed someone to step up he did the exact opposite

Even as a Panther, LaFell would have a 'teaser game' every once in a while. You'd watch and think 'wow, the lights finally came on' and raise your expectations. Then next game it was back to his usual form.

LaFell is still the same guy he always was. He just gets paid a lot more.

Agreed.  For us last year after 6 games, he had 18 catches for about 250 yards.  For NE, he has 15 catches for 282 yards.  Slightly fewer catches, slightly more yards.  Not much different imo.

Lafell is an average receiver.  He'll make some good plays and some bad ones.  Just the way it goes.

 

I'm glad he's making plays with a bonafide top 5 all time QB.  I'm happy for him.

I say resurgence because he had 0 catches on 0 targets in his first two games and the 282 yards came in the last 4. I think he was #3 or #4 on the depth chart and is now #2 ahead of Amendola.
