Really don't need our franchise QB jumping in the air on goal line plays. It might work sometimes but it's something one of our half dozen throwaway RBs does - not Cam.

On the topic of Newton being elite, he'll have to win tough games like against GB and SEA despite our defense. That's when we can begin to talk about him being in the upper echelon of QBs.

 

I thought he did that last year against San Fran, NE, and NO.  Lord knows he didn't do it against the Bears, and he played like chop liver against the Bengals.  He's going to have to go undefeated and win a SB to get his respect.

He did and no one is disputing that. He has to get to that point where people can say that because we have Cam, we have a chance to win. That is how I am beginning to feel about him this year, where despite our bad defense, having Cam gives us a chance to win.

Well's he's at that point.  We haven't been picked to win a game all year.

Exactly what I am saying. If all those that pick against us keep losing because we win, that will force them to really pay attention to why we are winning and that's when it will be obvious that he is playing really well. Had we beaten CIN, I am sure it would have forced people to pay more attention.

or maybe we shouldn't have ran it up the middle literally 4 times in a row to turnover on downs. We didn't have KB but a PA pass to Olsen can always work, or have Cam roll out look for somebody and if no one's there then run in. Lots of options and we chose different variations of the exact same play right up the middle 4 times in a row.
