Pro Football Focus' top graded quarterback this season? Cam Newton. Don't worry, he'll still be in the mid-teens in next season's various quarterback ranking lists.

 

 

Fairly accurate at this point. But the funniest is the Cincinnati ranking:

 

 

 

6. Cincinnati Bengals (3-1-1, LW: 3)

Cam Newton is an elite quarterback, and he's capable of games like that. Still, giving up 37 at home? After the Patriots torched them the week before? Little concerning.

 

 

Thanks for the praise of Cam, but seems to be a little misplaced.

I still can't believe how good Cam has been as a passer this year. Little to no high throws so far this year, delivering absolutely beautiful balls on a consistent basis...often times where only his receiver can make a play.

 

The sky really is the limit for Cam. As for our ranking, yeah, somewhere outside the Top 10 seems fair. If we find a competent defense/special teams, then we'll be Top 10.

These rankings are BS though. I mean he has SEA ranked higher than anyone in the NFCW. SEA is in third place in the NFCW.

On the topic of Newton being elite, he'll have to win tough games like against GB and SEA despite our defense. That's when we can begin to talk about him being in the upper echelon of QBs.

I think we are slowly turning back into a offensive team, if not now it will be  a sure thing after the GB game. At this point you have to go with whatever is winning you games and we are just not winning off defense anymore.  Like i said in the other thread hopefully Rivera realizes this and goes with what is working for his team we will continue to lose games if we keep trusting in the defense to win it for us.

If he continues to play like this, Rivera's trust in him will grow. Ron was probably thinking back to the 49ers playoff game. Can't blame Ron too much.
