Mike Mitchell just played with reckless abandon - I don't think he intended to injure anyone after he left Oakland. Celebrating when Bradford went down was classless, but I honestly don't think he realized Bradford was hurt.

They worked out together in the offseason. I highly doubt they dislike each other if that's the case.

Likewise, I can easily see Hardy or maybe a couple other players on this team doing the same thing in the thick of the game.

 

I have never seen Hardy do anything remotely dirty or even close to intentionally trying to injure someone.  The ankle twisting, as Olsen put it, indicated forethought and planning.  It wasn't an accidental 'didn't get his head up' or accidentally hit someone low.  It was a premeditated, intentional act.  A hammer lock and twist isn't an movement or action that comes naturally or by accident.  Hardy's never intentionally tried to hurt someone in any game I've seen.  And I've watched them all.

The only player on our team I've seen do something dirty is Harper...I recall some Nakamura suplexes and tombstone piledrivers, but he's no longer on the team.

After hearing about Burfict I'm just wondering what fellow huddlers' reactions would be if this was going on with a player on our team? Not defending him at all, I think it is an example of genuine dirty play, but would we be so harsh had it been a Panther doing this? I can recall in particular Roman Harper talking smack above an injured Gio Bernard yesterday. Marlon McCree was always a headhunter, Mike Mitchell, Dante Wesley's hit on Clifton Smith, etc. So since Burfict is basically their Luke (leading tackler from last season) would the huddle be okay with the league possibly suspending Luke for similar play?

People were always cautious of Mitchell last year.....bc of his past. Mitchell was more of the classic heat of the moment dumb that Olsen mentioned.

If a Panther player did what Vontaze did I would want him punished.

I wouldn't support Harper pulling what he did on 89 simply bc he is now a Panther. After the whistle junk at this level shouldn't be handled with just a fine if you aren't a first time offender IMO. Fines don't impact players unless it is huge and you make league min

if cam speared every defender that came near him, threw some forearms after the whistle, and put 2 or 3 DT's and LB's in heel locks and figure 4's in a game...i would be more impressed at what a pissed off badass cam was being, as opposed to being mad at cam. would be disappointed with the penalties though.

 

anyway, really talented players aren't supposed to cheapshot other teams players. they're supposed to physically assault their own team mates...then a deluded percentage of the bengals fanbase will love and adore them forever, and will always blame anyone else but them for their selfish and aggressive outbursts. i saw that happen one time, but not with the bengals though.

 

cams ok, olsens ok, we headed to green bay now. we wont see the bengals again this year unless they make the super bowl, time to focus on the task at hand and let the nfl deal with the trainwreck of a human being that is vontaze burfict.
