I think the only reason Lester is not on the team is he has no ST role cause he is slow. I have to think he is a better ss than Cole.

I think the idea is to have a good tackling DB near the line in order to help against the run game. If you remember Davis was a safety at one time and moved to LB. now he has great speed and cover ability for a LB. I think having a safety in the nickle you and play a 2 TE set with the nickle covering a TE instead of a LB. So it is like having him instead of Klein, who is slower. I have thought about doing this with lester as he is slow but big and a good tackler. So if the team is a run heave team that dont throw to TE use 4-3 if they run and pass to TE heavy, then run a nickle with Lester. If they have a speed slot guy use Bene. That is just an idea but it might be hard to decide personnel and you might be making your guys go cold by swapping.

I like the idea but Harper is never making a play and is no where in the picture when a big play happens because he's too slow. Lester takes horrible angles and has times where he looks like sherrod martin. Looked decent in coverage

Lester > Godfrey in every single possible scenario I can think of. I'd imagine we'd of cut Godfrey by now had he not taken that pay cut.

I thought they made that move so they could bring him on corner blitzes like they did with Munney last year.  Every time we dial that blitz up it seems to be successful.  I'm not sure if we've brought a corner blitz at all this year.

when bene was healthy I figured he'd take that captain role with Godfrey replacing Harper on passing plays but every time a big play happens Harper is no where to be found it's either decoud or Cason making a td saving play..........I just don't think we're putting guys in the best position to succeed
