Ron Rivera: "Greg will be here at the right moment/appropriate time"

SF and Carolina isn't apples to apples. Hardy already was charged and went to court and found guilty. Yes, NC law techically wipes that away when he appeals but it is still something Hardy has against him in the court of public opinion with his charge that the SF player doesn't have

Surely the team, or at least Hardy's agent, can explain to the league what anybody with the internet can find about NC's legal system.  They can't take action against him for an action he's been found innocent of.  The only precedent that's even close is Ruthlessbanger's case, and he wasn't found innocent.  The women were paid off and dropped the charges.  There's a difference between dropping the case, meaning the truth will never be known, and being found innocent.

I believe that if he is found innocent that he will sill be suspended.

if he is suspended after being found innocent it will be blatantly fuging obvious that the league has it out for us. He is already suspended with pay just to fug us over. If he is suspended again it will just be another big fug you to the panthers.

"While criminal activity is clearly outside the scope of permissible conduct, and persons who engage in criminal activity will be subject to discipline, the standard of conduct for persons employed in the NFL is considerably higher. It is not enough simply to avoid being found guilty of a crime. Instead, as an employee of the NFL or a member club, you are held to a higher standard and expected to conduct yourself in a way that is responsible, promotes the values upon which the League is based, and is lawful."

I think he'll be suspended even if he's found innocent, but I certainly hope not.

There is no way if found innocent he stays on suspension. Conduct detrimental doesn't include "choosing the wrong people to hang with". If it did Ray would have never played for hanging and protecting the murders he hung with.

If anybody actually took the time and read the testimony in the case. They could see it's a good chance that 12 people won't see eye to eye on this case.

agreed! basically she's a drugged out groupy chick... not to say Greg doesn't do drugs as well but she seems to have a very recent history. I can't believe they entertained her as truthful. also I can't believe Greg would allow someone like this in his circle. foolish stuff... NO WAY a jury will see this as guilty. nevertheless, if he is, he would have already served his suspension via money offset.

The part you bolded is exactly why I don't think they can suspend him if he's found innocent.  That's in there for instance like Big Ben's, where he "avoided being found guilty."  There's a difference between avoiding being found guilty and being found innocent.

actually I haven't but she would  have to be to even entertain any man having bad judgment with 13 million. Nelly should have been a red flag for Hardy tho. even used doesn't mean it cool to keep. one might pop the hood and realize its high maintenance... smh..lol

It's possible Goodell would try to interpret that way.  But the way I read it is "paying a victim off doesn't get you off the hook with us."  I don't see how they could punish an innocent person.  A more similar case would be Ray Lewis.  Was he punished for killing that guy?  I know that was before Goodell, but the situations would be more similar.

But the question is how the NFL will react after the trial. JB thinks the NFL will not suspend Hardy if he's found innocent.

The NFLPA won't allow him to be punish for being innocent.

Goodell isn't as powerful or credible as he was before.
