I can see now that Norman is better then White.

The pass rush is nonexistent because the back end can't cover for poo. You try getting to a QB on a three-step drop when his receivers are already wide open. Reggie White and LT couldn't do any better under those conditions.

 

 

I'm not saying it's all the D line's fault, but they're literally getting pressure on like 1 out of 10 plays.  We knew from day one this season that our secondary was not high quality...  It's on the D line to at minimum get in the QB's face, hit him a little and make him rush his timing... they're not doing that and I don't care what D backs you have, if you're playing zone and not getting pressure any decent NFL QB is going to complete passes.

Godfrey is not a nickle cb why they still put him there is a mystery.

White is getting killed deep on a regular basis.

Norman isn't smart.

Bene is the best cover cb and he's a rookie!!

Roman is old ,slow, and can't cover a snail.

Decoud sucks as a tackler and takes horrible angles.

And the rest are young and are very inexperience.

 

That's really a complete and frustrating description of our secondary.

Starting to look like the reason Harper was so excited to be here is because we were the only team willing to sign him. His effort on Pacman's kick return was atrocious

White struggling doesn't mean Norman is better....not in coverage. He isn't.

As much as it pains me. And it does to say this....at least Norman plays the run very well. So if White is gonna struggle at least Norman brings one thing to the table. Run support. But the pass plays will still be there.

All I know is the real issue next week is Rodgers is gonna have Cobb or Nelson in the slot and will throw 345 balls at Godfrey. Nothing we can do

After the Bills game last year, Rivera was forced to make some key changes in the secondary. He needs to do the same thing this year. If it was up to me I'm benching both DeCoud and Harper. We need speed on the field. It's so obvious we're scared shitless of getting beat deep, and I see why.

Our CBs need to be upgraded but its going to take time and its not going to be this year. Say what you want about Cason he finds ways to cause turnovers but after that we have no one...

White's mistakes are glaring, but he also makes a very good play in coverage sometimes.  He had at least a couple good batted passes yesterday.  I dunno if I'd say Norman is better or worse than him.  White is more boom or bust - either makes a really good play or doesn't get his head around and allows a deep completion - and Norman is more bend but don't break, mostly keeps the play in front of him or makes the immediate tackle after the completion but plays too far off to prevent the completion from happening.

He is not a coverage guy.  He was getting whipped every time we went man to man.

Why are all the backups getting elevated by the Huddle? Velasco? Bersin? Norman? Norman played like 10 snaps before getting hurt last week. How could you draw a conclusion from that?

 

Maybe he is better, but I wouldn't talk about it in absolutes. Melvin is getting exposed by the rules emphasis and the QB has a clean pocket. He did have a great break up on Sanu though.
