I can see now that Norman is better then White.

WOW!!

I don't know what happen. Maybe it's a 2nd year slump. But it's clear that White is getting beat deep to much and Norman can at least stay with the WR. How fast is White again?? It just seem that he misses a jam and he get beats deep so easily.

i'd say they're about even but the upper hand goes to Melvin. Melvin may not be great at knocking the ball out but norman too often leaves too much space or can be found "lost" at times but is improving. cason is the real suspect imo...

White struggling doesn't mean Norman is better....not in coverage. He isn't.

As much as it pains me. And it does to say this....at least Norman plays the run very well. So if White is gonna struggle at least Norman brings one thing to the table. Run support. But the pass plays will still be there.

All I know is the real issue next week is Rodgers is gonna have Cobb or Nelson in the slot and will throw 345 balls at Godfrey. Nothing we can do

Godfrey is a huge liability.

With our pass rush not getting to the QB, we'll continue to struggle.

Pretty much.  Unless we can get to Rodgers, it's going to be a long Sunday.  Unless of course Super Cam is there to match him TD for TD, and we get a lucky break!  Or Super Luke whips that defense into shape!

Having Norman, as dumb as he is at times, on the sidelines hurts this defense a lot. He may not be great, or even very good, but he's a lot better than his backups. A LOT better, as evidenced by yesterday's secondary woes. Third and medium-long conversions seemed inevitable by the Bengals as the Panthers couldn't play press coverage because they just didn't have the horses to do it. Norman would've changed that.

Our secondary at whole has been a problem.

Cb.

Cason can't keep his hands off people.

Godfrey is not a nickle cb why they still put him there is a mystery.

White is getting killed deep on a regular basis.

Norman isn't smart.

Bene is the best cover cb and he's a rookie!!

Safety

Roman is old ,slow, and can't cover a snail.

Decoud sucks as a tackler and takes horrible angles.

And the rest are young and are very inexperience.

    • Qbs aren't defined by physical abilities. Brady, Brees, Manning, Montana, Warner,.....doesn't seem to correlate.

    • If we are going to spend the money anyway, maybe the signing is not as bad as it seems.  Mays outperformed Corbett (before his injury and if you go back to last year, Corbett has been below average) and then Christensen took the job and Mays quickly took it from him and never looked back.  He could use improvement reaching to the next level (LBs) but picking up stunts and blitzes---he was surprisingly good.  Run blocking needs some work, but he is 25.  Corbett, in my view, should be G/C depth and if Mays steps back, he is there.  Mays should start because this team is building for the future and 30 year old players are not building blocks.  We shall see.  That is how I think about it, but there are many factors we do not know. Having said that, I like what Zavala is doing, and I do not want to bring in someone who would take opportunities away from him.  Zavala was really good at RG down the stretch, and in limited duty, was awesome. In fact, we have a guard from the PS who played briefly and did well, but he only played a few plays.  He is 25 and I recall that fans of his former team were upset when we signed him.   Maybe as the backup center only (Corbett).  You need 2 centers to run practices efficiently.  I cannot say enough about the OL coaches on this staff.  What they have done is overshadowed by the Lewis / Hunt signing.  Mays, Ekwonu, Zavala--impressive growth.
