Luke and the Single Season Tackle Record

Luke has 74 tackles through 6 games.  That's a rate of about 12.3 per game.  If he keeps up that pace, he will finish with 197 tackles on the year.  Because tackles aren't an official stat, I'm having trouble finding a definitive number for the most tackles ever in a single season, but some Googling suggests the number is somewhere in that range.  

 

Is there a somewhat recognized number for most tackles in a season?

I get your point, but plenty of teams have had far worse defensive lines than us, and didn't produce elite tacklers.
