The Great News.

Since the Falcons lost, it's become clear that the Saints are once again the biggest threat to us in the division.  Out of curiosity I just checked their schedule.  If you think ours is tough....look at theirs.

10/19 At Detroit

10/26 Vs Green Bay

10/30 At Carolina

11/9   Vs San Fran

11/16 Vs Cincy

11/24 Vs Baltimore

11/30 At Pittsburgh

12/7 Vs Carolina

I know we have a tough stretch too but we're winning the division and we still have the falcons twice.

looks remarkably similar to ours - go figure

if we beat the Saints we might not have a great record, but will make the playoffs by default NFC South crown

Well....yeah of course.  I know where you're going with that.  My point is....we're further along our tough stretch then they are.  They're just beginning their gauntlet and they're down in the division.  Plus our bye week is going to come at a good time.

We all play those same teams bro.

We've already played against Detroit, Baltimore, Cincy and Pittsburgh....

    • Same... With the personnel the Niners had, that defense could have been historically good in the right hands. Under Wilks they were certainly good, they didn't quite rise to that level. Honestly, I see Wilks kinda like I see Rivera: fantastic person, decent head coach. Skill wise, phenomenal DB coach, so-so DC. His greatest strength is his leadership. Hard to find many better in that department. In the Xs and Os / execution area though, not as good. Bottom Line: Wilks is the sort of coach that needs a staff that excels in those aspects of the game where he's weaker. But, like Rivera, I don't know that he scouts assistants very well. That as much as anything might be why he's not in the NFL now.
    • Clearly the best outcome for us is a Giants W. A spot or two difference in the 4th round is inconsequential. Just look at the trade value charts. A spot or two at the top of the 1st means a LOT. A spot or two in the mid-rounds? Virtually nothing.
    • Agree. I don't think I have ever heard him say anything positive, at any time, about the Panthers. Best expectation is no mention at all.
