We may very well still be the best team in the NFCS

Now that Cam is FINALLY Cam again, we may get it rolling. As much as we would like to trash Cincy they are a really good team, even without two playmakers. Although they shot themselves a lot, they are pretty solid.

There are some things we gotta get together defensively, and I think we will. I hope we get hot on defense late and carry it into the playoffs.

I love our fan base. If you'd told me three years ago that we'd be in the hot seat for back to back NFCS champs I would not have sat there wondering how bad the rest of the division would have been to "let us win". Ludicrous expectations on this board sometimes.

I would rather have 12 or so wins to win the division instead of 9, but at the end of the day.....no one is gonna care. It will be:

- did they make the playoffs

- did they win a playoff game

- they make it to the NFC Championship

So on and so forth

JUST WIN BABY!!!

if you've got a problem with the possibility of this team winning the south because the other teams suck and we backed in to a division title then by all means go root for the saints and falcons to win every sunday so the panthers have to "earn it".

Great point!  I can't stand the empty pride of "Oh we beat a bad team, it's like losing!"  A W is a W, and a Division Title and Playoff Birth is a Division Title and Playoff Birth!  I'll gladly be the class of a crappy division year after year so long as we get to the playoffs and have a CHANCE!

Great point about Cincy!  This game demonstrates the importance of the small things.  Discipline, angles, and inches.  Just think, if that 4-1 was like 4-6", I bet Rivera goes for it.  Cincy is a good team with a strong Defense.  They rose up and made plays that killed drives.  On a 4-2, that's a lot of real estate to cover.  A Tie is better than a loss.

The fact is this year's Panthers aren't the same as last year's.  Cam is starting to show signs of his mobility to go with his better passing (if you don't think he's better as a passer from last year....life must be rough), lets get some of our billion dollar RBs back and put them to work.  Hopefully we can start to make some defensive plays, and tighten up the sieve we've become.

Cincy is a good team, probably the better team yesterday.  We came out with a Tie, which is still better than a loss.  I'll take it.  I think we can win the NFCS, then regroup for the playoffs.  I don't care how bad the rest of the NFCS is, the playoffs are a different animal!

The patriots have run roughshod over a bad division year after year and they have a string of division titles and conference championship appearances to show for it.

Back to back division titles would go a long way toward clearing the fog around this franchise. Even if we don't do much in the playoffs it would still be a big step and something to build on.
