"Ron Rivera and the Panthers wasted a brilliant performance by Cam" - NFL.com

so...did the Bengals waste Dalton's performance, who had better stats, incidentally.

God u folks and your worshiping of stats.

Stats seen in it's real context usually tell a different story. Here is a nice quote for you to chew on: "The Panthers' defense just can't seem to get the kind of pressure on passers that they did last year, and the secondary was exposed because of it. Carolina's defensive backs struggled in zone and man coverage, and Andy Dalton had more than enough time to find his men down the field. "Yup, and that does help his stats.

One of the less educated things I've read on this board in a while. Ron won 12 games last year and has this team in first as of now. Is he the perfect coach? Absolutely not? But to say he is worthless on Sundays is laughable. The truth of the reality is this team is in trouble with the cap and until that gets fixed there is not much more he can do with what he has. But sure lets all just pretend he is worthless on Sundays instead.

I don't know about this. For the most part, since he has arrived the Panthers FO have been adamant about drafting and spending team resources on his side of the ball. He got the job, not because he is some great motivator or great leader of men, he go the job because he is supposed to be a defensive guru. He is supposed to do more with less.

I have no idea why we have him as HC only to constantly draft defense while our offense needs major work.

Rivera lost riverboat as soon as greg hardy became inactive.

cam brought it all together today. You put the football in the hands of the best player. cam newton took this game over.

He did. But I still don't want him running so much.

I understand Reaves got hurt; so he did. But the Panthers gotta find a way to get the other RB's involved.

Well said and I agree whole heartly. Ron Rivera was coach of the year in 2013 for a reason,I don't think he just woke up one morning and forgot how to coach. He has a team that is made up of a lot of undrafted players and low budget fill in's because of the salary cap hell Hurney got us in. You have to realiize that a lot of posters on the Huddle(claiming to be fans) love to piss, moan and point fingers, trying to place blame and really don't know where to direct it.

This is the biggest difference from last year...hardy is the linchpin of the defense. And for this game, two of our better defenders were inactive. I think the defense did as well as they could with the injuries they had against that offense at home.

34/44 for 323 and 2TD.  don't act like he was Clausen out there.

Dalton's QBR was 93, Cams was 85.

Two turnovers v. one turnover have much more weight in reality... regardless of your stat, watch the game.

Last time I checked, QB rating doesn't include rushing stats.  You've attempted to exclude 100+ yds and a td from Cam's stats.  That doesn't work, as a stat lover you should know that.

Also, I don't remember 2 tds being called back that Dalton placed perfectly in the endzone.  I watched the game to form my opinion.  Stats don't play football... and fantasy football isn't real, and definitely doesn't tell the story.

Cam was the best player, possibly in the entire league today.  And you're talking about Dalton had a better game... lol.

There's a reason if you read this article, it alludes exactly to this. Look what they say about Cam, look what they say about Dalton

BTW, atleast Dalton got a HUGE return to help him. IMO, he would have probably had another TO if he had to come back and tie us within 4 mins. Bengals did more to help Dalton, than the Panthers did to help Cam. How I see it
