You Don't Go For It?

Why the fug do people keep saying he was playing for a tie? If our defense holds up, we get the ball again and go for the win.

What is sooooo hard to understand about that? It's not rocket science.

Everyone knew that if they got the ball back, regardless of whether or not we made the kick, they were going to march right back down the field like they did all day. Which they did.

Kicking the field goal was the WRONG decision, hands down. They make that field goal 9 times out of 10 and we lose the game 9 times out of 10. It was the wrong football decision for anyone who watched that game.

Everyone needs to read this.

Only problem I have is that everyone and their blind brother knew our defense wasn't getting a stop. That is why I wanted them to go for it.

To get the ball back with so little time left, the defense had to get a three and out. They hadn't done that the entiry game at that point, so why would you think they would do that at that point?

Bengals had to drive the ball down the field.  We could have gotten a INT or fumble in that drive.

Whatever. You believe in your defense! Period!

Yes, I would have. At least I would know that we were trying to win instead of fuging tie. A tie does absolutely nothing, especially when the teams aren't in the same conference. I can't believe you people are backing such a cowardly coaching staff. We will never, and I repeat, never win a superbowl if all we do is play not to lose.

And at the end of the season, when that tie is what separates from the other teams in out division, I'll be sure to remind you; hell, if this tie costs us a post-season berth, I'll eat my crow about it, but I feel that a tie is insurmountably better than a loss.

A loss is NEVER acceptable.

Gano kicked the field goal with 2:24 left in the game. Even if we hold them to a 3 and out there would have been at best about a minute left once we get the ball back. Also, what would make us think we could stop them when we hadn't all game?

We had gotten some stops. So whatever. You play the probability.

The psychotic huddle..if he went for it and didn't get it then he sucks....he gets a tie after a knock down drag out game on their field...and still crying. If Cotchery catches the damn ball they win.

Panthers are an average team right now as is 90% of the other teams out there. Stop crying.
