You Don't Go For It?

A tie is not as bad as a loss.  And its not as good as a win.

But we still played for a tie over a win to avoid a loss.  It's a tricky scenario IMO.  I won't lie, it's nice not having a 3rd loss but I just was not a fan of the mentality when push came to shove.  Not saying it's wrong but polarizing.

Why the fug do people keep saying he was playing for a tie. If our defense holds up, we get the ball again and go for the win.

To get the ball back with so little time left, the defense had to get a three and out. They hadn't done that the entiry game at that point, so why would you think they would do that at that point?

True, but we will all feel a little bit better if Atlanta loses today.  :)

And if we had attempted and failed, would you be okay with 3-3 as compared to 3-2-1?

What if, on top of the loss, ATL wins? Then we are tied with them at 3-3.

Would you also want us to go for 2 after a game tying touchdown because playing for OT is disgusting and we should be able to get 2-yards easily?

You have no idea what the fug you're talking about.

Rivera gave the team every opportunity to win.

He could have run the ball once we got into FG range. Instead, he threw it deep, and we would've won had Cotchery caught that pass.

I for one will take a tie over a loss any day of the week. Live to fight another day and enjoy the fact that we tied a game that EVERYONE expected us to lose.

Yes, I would have. At least I would know that we were trying to win instead of fuging tie. A tie does absolutely nothing, especially when the teams aren't in the same conference. I can't believe you people are backing such a cowardly coaching staff. We will never, and I repeat, never win a superbowl if all we do is play not to lose.

Because the game is on the line!

As a coach---a defensive minded one at that---you believe in your defense that was the second ranked defense last year.
