I would rather go for it on 4th and 1 and lose than settle for the tie. It isn't like it was 4th and 2 or longer it was 1 yard which Cam converts on a QB sneak all the time.

But we still played for a tie over a win to avoid a loss.  It's a tricky scenario IMO.  I won't lie, it's nice not having a 3rd loss but I just was not a fan of the mentality when push came to shove.  Not saying it's wrong but polarizing.

I was saying it's more of an expression.  Players have said that in the past after ties from a competition standpoint.  Not saying with a final record/tie breaker scenarios.

To get the ball back with so little time left, the defense had to get a three and out. They hadn't done that the entiry game at that point, so why would you think they would do that at that point?

He could have run the ball once we got into FG range. Instead, he threw it deep, and we would've won had Cotchery caught that pass.

 

I for one will take a tie over a loss any day of the week. Live to fight another day and enjoy the fact that we tied a game that EVERYONE expected us to lose.

 

Yes, I would have. At least I would know that we were trying to win instead of fuging tie. A tie does absolutely nothing, especially when the teams aren't in the same conference.
